Gentle

I am a rock falling down.
Falling fast towards the ocean.
It looks cold
And dark
And big and wide
I brace for impact
I turn into a feather.
Gentler landing than expected.
I rest on the top of the water. Waves pass underneath. They don't bother me. I close myself off to the noise.
A boat pulls over. It doesn't bother me. I close myself off to the noise.
A man wearing a suit submerges himself in the water and gentle removes me from the ocean.
I am angry.
"Put me back" I say.
"I do this to help you" he replies
It does not help me. It upsets me.
I felt peaceful.
I felt gentle.
I felt light and calm.
I feel heavy in his hands. He looks down at me in disgust and drops me.
I hit the water hard.
I start to sink.
I am drowning.
I think of the sky I saw on the top of the water. On the top of the ocean. I think of the gentle breeze pushing at me as I floated.
I breathe in and hear seagulls.
My feather texture returned to me.
Floating on top. I feel waves underneath.
I close myself off to the noise.
