You currently had an internship in Boston which was perfect because it just so happened that your cousin Dustin Pedroia played for the Boston Red Sox.
You were close to your cousin Dustin and grew to be really close friends with the some of the players on the team especially Andrew Benintendi and Xander Bogaerts.
Dustin's family invited you and the rest of his teammates over for a simple barbecue on Thursday night.
Dustin stood up making a toast, "let's beat those Yankees this weekend!"
The Red Sox and Yankees were getting ready to face off in the three-game series at Fenway Park. The Red Sox vs Yankees games were always the ones to watch because of the huge team rivalry. The boys were excited for the series and you were too because you were finally going to see Aaron Judge again.
You and Aaron had met at a small party awhile back when you were visiting your friend, Brooke in New York City. The two of you instantly hit it off, you thought he was really funny and sweet. Brooke even claimed the two of you would be perfect for each other and that it was a shame that you couldn't come out to New York more often.
You and Aaron had been texting for a while now, but it was hard for you to ever see him in person because you were currently living in Boston. The two of you had plans to meet for lunch tomorrow.
"Y/N?" Andrew called you, breaking you out of your little day dream about Aaron.
"What?" you asked.
"Caught you thinking," he said taking a swig of his drink, "...Got any plans before the game tomorrow?"
You smiled, "yeah, actually I'm going to lunch with Aaron Judge."
Andrew looked up at you, "Is that so?" he said playfully pushing your shoulder.
"Yes, but don't tell Dustin, he can get a little over protective sometimes." you said.
"Don't tell Dustin what?" Xander asked walking over to you guys.
"Oh Y/N is just going on date with the enemy." Andrew said, looking over at you with a smile on his face.
"Enemy?" Xander asked.
"The Aaron Judge" Andrew told Xander.
"It's just lunch, ok?" you said.
Andrew leaned back in his chair crossing his arms, "how do you even know him?"
"He's a friend of a friend," you said.
"Well I don't trust him," Xander said in a serious tone.
"Come on, he's a good guy," Andrew reassured Xander.
"If you say so," Xander replied.

•the next day•
You were getting ready for lunch with Aaron, he had told you not too dress up too much, so you wore a jean skirt and stripped off the shoulder shirt. As you were looking at the mirror feeling satisfied with your outfit, you heard knocking at your apartment door. "One sec," you yelled.
Running towards the door stopped, taking a deep breath to calm your nerves, 'it's just Aaron' you told yourself.
Opening the door you saw Aaron standing casually with a big grin on his face, "Hey! It's so great to see you again," you said.
"You too, it's been to long." he said opening his arms for a hug.
This hug lasted a few seconds, you loved the feeling of his arms around you.
Pulling away, "You look great" Aaron said.
You blushed, "Thank you."
"Are you ready to go?" Aaron asked.
"Yeah," you said.

Aaron took you to a humble cafe on the side of the Brooklyn streets, it had patio sets waiting to be filled and since it was a nice day you guys decided to sit outside.
"So how have you've been Mr. Home Run Derby winner?" you asked.
Aaron looked down almost embarrassed, "not too much other than playing baseball, you?"
"I'm actually applying for jobs in NYC!" you said.
He smiled, "Really?"
You nodded your head, "Yes, I just feel like that city has way more opportunities for me."
"Well then, we may be seeing more of each other," Aaron said with a sly grin on his face.
"I guess so," you said back.
"Are you coming too the game tonight?" Aaron asked.
"Of course, but I'll be wearing red," you teased.
"Hopefully one day you'll be wearing pin stripes," Aaron said.
You raised your eyebrow, "we will have to see about that."
The rest of lunch was great, Aaron was really easy to talk to and you felt really comfortable around him.
After lunch he drove you back and walked you back up to your apartment door.
You stopped before opening the door, "Thank you for taking me to lunch today."
"The pleasure is mine," Aaron said.
You stood on the tip of your toes to kiss his cheek, "We should do this again."
"Already planning on it, thank you for going out with me today," Aaron replied.
You smiled wrapping your arms around him, "I'll be watching you tonight!"

During the game you sat with your cousin in law, Kelli. You admired how cute Aaron looked in those baseball pants, Kelli even caught you staring a few times.
In the sixth inning Aaron tried to steal second base but fell short when he was tagged out. It was an extremely close play so the Yankees decided to challenge it.
While the play was being reviewed Dustin looked Aaron up and down, "stay the hell away from Y/N"
"What?" Aaron asked, truly confused.
Dustin stood on his toes, trying to get closer and Aaron's face, "you heard me, stay away." Aaron threw his hands up to show that he did not want this conversation to get physical.
A few players from the Red Soxs ran other to see what this 'show down' at second base was all about.
Andrew pushed Dustin back, "he's not even worth it."
Dustin didn't listen to this, "if you lay a finger on her you're dead."
Aaron's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "I really like her, I'm not going to hurt her."
More players grew curious and soon enough the benches in the dugouts work will clearing. The crowd began to cheer "fight" and before you knew it both teams were pushing each other around. Andrew pushed Dustin back towards the dugout, "you need to stop."
No one besides Aaron, Dustin and Andrew knew what the fight was really about, but with these two rival teams anything can get out of hand.
The umpires broke it up and the play was overturned in Aaron's favor causing the crowd to boo.
Eventually the Yankees ended up winning 4 to 1.

You decided to stick around for a little bit after the game when your phone buzzed, a text message from Andrew, "hey are you still around?"
"Yeah!" you texted back
"Come to the clubhouse"

Andrew told you what the scrum in the sixth inning between Aaron and Dustin was really about.
"That's ridiculous, I can't believe that Dustin would make a big deal out of this." You said.
"I know, Aaron really is a good guy," Andrew agreed with you, "... I don't know what Dustin's problem is."
Dustin walked out of the clubhouse coming toward you and Andrew, "What the hell was that?" you asked.
"You're my little cousin, I have to protect you," Dustin said.
You crossed your arms, "No you don't we're not in high school anymore!"
"He's no good for you," Dustin protested.
"Why's that?" you retorted.
"He'll only break your heart," Dustin said.
"That's not true," Aaron called, appearing out of nowhere. He must have heard you and Dustin arguing.
"I told you to stay away from Y/N," Dustin said.
"Dustin this needs to stop, Aaron is a good guy" you spoke.
"Oh, then enlighten me," Dustin said.
"...he's humble, respectful, sweet, and funny. I could really go on forever," you said interlocking Aaron's hand with your own.
Aaron grinned, "Dustin, I know you're trying to look out for Y/N. I really like Y/N, I think she's an amazing girl. I admire everything about her, I would never hurt her." He lightly squeezed your hand as he continued to speak, "...So please just give me a chance to prove to you that I'm not the kind of man you think I am."
"You already have," Dustin said.
"Wait, really?" you asked.
Dustin nodded, "Y/N, you deserve to be happy. And I know it's rare to find a man with so much respect and love in his heart."
You smiled, "Thank you Dustin."
"Well, can I take you guys out for ice cream now?" Aaron asked.
