"Montalban, may gustong kumausap sayo."
Kaagad naman akong napabangon at tumayo nang biglang nagsalita ang isang jailguard. Pumasok naman ang dalawa pang police sa loob ng selda ko at kaagad pinusasan ang dalawang kamay ko sa likod. It is always been their protocol to put a handcuffs on the prisoner's hands first before going to see his visitor.
Nakalabas na ako sa selda at papunta na ngayon sa visiting area. Sa may 'di kalayuan ay natatanaw ko si Ezekiel na nakabusiness suit habang seryosong nakatingin sa akin. He has been handling and working on my case for months now. Siya kasi ang kinuha kong personal na abogado kasi siya na lang ang taong mapagkakatiwalaan ko.
And it's been more than six months since I got jailed.
Naupo na ako sa harapan ni Ezekiel. The two policemen immediately uncuffed me and left the two of us. May ibang inmates din kaming mga kasama doon na binibisita din ng mga kamag-anak nila sa loob.
"Zeke." I started. Napabuntong-hininga naman ito.
"I've been working on your case. I've used all my contacts para masawalang-bisa ang kaso mo. I did my best, Edward," He told me seriously. I chuckled. Since we became friends in law school, hanggang ngayon, hindi pa rin nagbabago ang ugali niya. Ezekiel is always stiff even though he's having a soon-to-be family now, "All I could get is just to lower your punishment."
I smiled genuinely, "It's fine. You've already helped me a lot, Attorney Delos Reyes."
Since law school, I already owed him a lot. Ezekiel helped me so many times in my life - at ganun din naman ako sa kanya.
"Gragraduate na siya bukas." Biglang sabi naman niya. I stopped for a second when he said those words. I know who he was pertaining to. Si Ezekiel ang inahabilin ko para sa kaligtasan niya.
Hindi naman kaagad ako nakapagsalita. I was just merely looking at him.
"I've granted you one day off to see her tomorrow. If you want to go, I'll let my men to escort you for safety purposes. Buong pamilya niya ay aattend sa graduation niya. I'll be there with the kids and Mariz." Ezekiel added. I was still silent. Apat na buwan na ang lumipas magmula 'nung bumisita siya sa akin dito. She was still hurt. She was crying. She was still begging to me to love her back... to come back to her.
But I pushed her away. I broke her heart into a million pieces...
As I broke mine too.
"She's going to pursue her dreams, she's going to work in States."

"Isang semester na lang, gragraduate na ako." Rose suddenly told me as she was snuggling up closer to me. She was resting her head on my shoulder. We were in each other's arms in our bed. It was really an exhausting night. Ang dami kong inasikaso na mga trabaho, siya naman ay napagod din dahil sa pagchecheck ng mga testpapers ng mga estudyante niya.
