When I woke up around three the next day I was hopelessly confused. The sun was beaming through the window attempting to blind me. I vaguely remembered driving to B.J.'s house the night before and carrying in Pippa who was fast asleep. I had ran up to my room to get something and I guess I fell asleep. I was still in my clothes from the day before but now they were covered in pencil shavings and my bed was littered with papers and art supplies. There were red scribbles and silhouettes and stars scattered across many crumpled pages.

My head was pounding as I tried to recall what had happened but I could not find it. B.J. walked into my room and threw himself on my bed. "Oh you finally decided to wake up, huh? I took Pippa home hours ago and Lamar just took Hayley out to dinner with his parents or something."

I rubbed my temples. I tried to sit up. I groaned. "What happened last night? I can't remember anything."

"I don't know, man. You pounded up the stairs mumbling something about a forest fire and slammed the door. When we woke up this morning, you were passed out in a pile of papers."

He fiddled with the papers surrounding us and tried to decipher the scribbles on them. "Were you, like, sleep drawing?"

"I don't know, this has never happened to me before." I replied.

"What even is this supposed to be?"

"I think it's Pippa."

"Pippa?"

"Last night she was zoned out and the stars were glinting on her hair and the wind was blowing and I got this inspiration and I guess it just overcame me."

"Wow that's kind of creepy."

"Yeah I guess."

"Anywho, while you were asleep your mom called."

"Oh here we go! What did she say?"

"That she misses you and is worried about you."

"A likely story."

"She's your mom, Fe. Give her some credit."

"What else did she say?"

"That her and your dad saw the signs you made and your father was very impressed."

"Really?! She said that?"

"She said that he felt really bad about what he said to you the other night but was too stubborn to admit it. You know they came by the carwash yesterday."

"They did?"

"Yeah they stopped by and got some brownies and stuff. They donated a good chunk of money and your dad looked genuinely proud of you. You need to go home, Fe."

"No way. He's just saying that to get me to come home so he can 'talk some sense into me.' Not gonna happen."

"Felix, I love you and I love having you here but if you don't get your pretty little butt out of this bed I will personally drag you back home."

He was completely serious; if I didn't move he would have no problem making me move. "Fine I will go home but if he says one negative thing I will pack up and become a permanent resident of this house."

"Deal."

So after cleaning up my room (by B.J.'s demands) and taking a shower I loaded up my things and began the drive home. The second I pulled in the driveway, my mother ran out and threw her arms around my neck. She was crying which was not natural for my mother. I lazily put one arm around her and patted her shoulder. "Mom, calm down."

"I'm sorry sweetie, I just missed you so much. Come on in and eat with us." She replied with a smile.

"Alright just let me take my stuff upstairs."
