Something’s not right...
Why are you out of sight?
I walk down this way
And you’re not by my side.
Have the memories faded into white?
Gone away in the wind like a kite?
I’d tell you the stories
But you’ve run off, looking for a place to hide.
If I told you them again
Would you say “I remember when.”?
Or all of it would you just ignore
Claiming that it is folklore?
I can’t believe you let this happen
Do you remember anything?
I’m trying, but don’t know what for
I know in the end my heart will be sore.
Because I remember everything too well
Every little heart-wracking detail
The small things that knocked me over
And made me fall without rebel.
It’s amazing how you can forget
Everything with the snap of a finger.
What occurred between us is history
But for me, our love forever lingers.
