The next day, I stayed home so my hand could heal, but that was okay. I couldn't bare to go to school.
"You can be so stupid sometimes, you know that?" My mom asked as she changed Opal for me.
"I know." I sighed. "I'm stupid."
"That's right." she nodded. "I don't how you can take care of Opal today with me being at work."
"I'm her dad. I'll find a way to take care of her."
"You better."
"I will ma."
She nodded and then handed me Opal.
I cuddled into my daughter as we laid in bed.
"I'll be back at around eight tonight."
"Alright, well I love you mom. Have fun at work."
"Yeah, yeah. Love you too." she spoke and then left me alone in my misery with Opal.
Opal looked up at me with her one green eye and one blue eye.
I smiled down at her but then once I saw Lottie and Louis' face in hers I started crying. Opal then frowned.
"I'm sorry Opal. I thought I could do this. I thought I could be a single dad. I thought I could fully take care of you, but I'm so stupid. I'm such a stupid boy and I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know what I can do anymore. I seem to be messing up my relationship with you because you never smile at me, hold my thumb, giggle with me-" I spoke and started crying harder. "-You only do that with Louis. Not me. And then Louis... oh Louis. I messed up our relationship so bad. He was actually good for us O. He was my partner for everything... and god did he love you so much. He treated you like his own. Ken doesn't do that. She looks at you like you're a disease. But not Louis... Louis would never."
Opal cuddled more into me and my heart began to ache.
"I have to break up with Ken." I said realizing how much she actually doesn't care about Opal. That's my main reason for living and she doesn't care about her. Fuck that bitch."
So I texted her.
With that... I left her on read.
Then I texted Louis...
After that, I cried some more and then slept with O by my side.
