Rowan's POV

"Did you know about what Brandon was doing?" I ask

"Excuse me?" Trevor says

"Come on, Brandon started it, and Sean was in it too... The pig mask" I smirk

".... what do you want?" He asks

"I want to know if you were apart of it, if you're apart of the reasons that we're still getting threatened with text messages" I said

"No. Rowan, I am not in this gang thing whatever. Have I known about it? Yes I have. Why didn't I do anything to stop it? Because I hated you, so I didn't care what they were doing" he says

"Brandon did this because of me, you stood by him because of me. Seems to me that it's just all my fault even though I'm getting blamed for nothing. So why attack Hailey and Elisia?" I asked

"I don't know how this damn thing works nor do I know why their victims" he says

"Alright well thanks I guess" I said as I walk away

"Rowan!"

I hear him shout my name from the back
I turn around slowly as he mouths "come here"

I walk up to him slowly, suspecting some time of mean prank or his hatred words

But what he says surprises me

"I can help you." He says

"What?" I said

"I know about the site, how it works, the passwords, the place they meet up, or just hang out" he says

"You know all of this?!" I said

"Two of my best friends were in it, yeah I know it" he rolls his eyes

"Why do you wanna help me? Don't you want me dead" I said as I cross my arms

He sighs

"Rowan do you want my help or not? I'm only doing this for blaming you about what our parents did" he says as he stands up

"Fine where do we meet?"

—after school—

Trevor texted me this address, it was just out of town, and by town I mean the place where we know nobody we know is going to be around, perfect place to hold a murdering meeting

"Hey" I hear from behind me, makes me jump

"Whoa chill" Trevor says

"Sorry sorry" I say

"You're not going to like this, but I needed someone's help" he says

"And that someone might be-" I cut off mid sentence when I see him

Brandon.

T shirt and jeans, his hair is lighter than it was. More brownish than black, but one thing didn't change, his bright blue eyes that just pop out whenever.

I didn't know how to feel, I should hate him, but I don't feel hatred, I just feel betrayal and at the same time, happiness when I saw him. I don't know why I get myself hooked, but I do, and I can't help it.

Brandon's POV

When Trevor asked me for help, I said no, because I wasn't going through this again, and I wasn't hurting the girls anymore. I was done with the shit, but when he told me he's helping out Rowan, I knew I owed her this. I also know Trevor probably didn't tell her I was coming, but i get it.

When I saw her, all of our memories come pouring back. I thought about them in jail, but not as much as I did right now in this moment

Her hair is shorter, I can already see her smile again, she's wearing jeans, a tank top, and a cool bomber jacket that's white and black with flowers on the front of it in the top corners.

She looked good, she was beautiful too me, more than any girl if I'm being honest. Which every boy probably says that to a girl to get them, am I guilty of it? Yes. But not this time, she's just so pure, and doesn't wear a lot of make up, her smile and eyes just speak enough words and show enough beauty. She's just beautiful on her own, she doesn't need makeup, or inappropriate party clothes, or to throw parties and be the crazy party girl. She's special, and If I could take back what I did, I would. If I could take back her ever getting involved with me, I would - because I never wanted to hurt her the way I did

"Hi.." I say as I finally walk up to her and Trevor

"Hey" she says

Her voice is like refreshing. Because I haven't heard it in so long

"So we're here because Rowan and the girls are still getting messages. Threats of what they might do to them, some as bad as getting shot in the head" Trevor says

"I need you Brandon to tell me how everything works, what the meet ups were about, who was in them" Rowan's asks me

"I don't know who showed up. We always wore a mask, identity is kept a secret" I say honestly

"What were the meetings for?" She asks

"I didn't go to many before I realized how stupid I was. I went because I needed to hear about they were planning to do to y'all so I could try and stop it" I say

"Yeah that sure worked" she says sarcastically

I drop my head down and just look at my feet

"We're going to have to work together, since Rowan doesn't wanna get Hailey and Elisia involved more than they already are" Trevor says

"I'm in" I say immediately after

She looks at me with suspicion

"I need to prove myself" I say
