When I opened my eyes again I saw the first rays of sun peeking in through my window. Eli was still sleeping on the floor, but I couldn't stand to wait for him. I wanted to go somewhere. Carefully I tiptoed to the door and gently opened it. Shutting in the same way, I strolled around the sidewalk.

It was still dark, but the sun rising provided enough light to see. The tawny rays washed across the city we were in basking it in a almost orange glow. It was beautiful and I seemed to know that I've done it before. Perhaps with that boy Jay. I wanted to stay in this moment forever, breathing in the crisp morning air. Watching the slow ascent of the sun, but life never quite works that way.

"Hello there Tammy" A man behind me spit out my name like it was acid on his tongue. I spun around to see a scarily familiar face.

"You.. You're one of those guys after me," I realised this as I said it, "What.. What do you want with me?" Panicked I realised I was on my own. Eli was still asleep inside.

"I finally got you away from Eli," I didn't question how this man knew Eli's name after the last encounter, "I thought you'd never be stupid enough to leave his side, but look what we have here." Backing up slowly I felt the cold wall of the motel hit my back, he had cornered me.

"Please.. Please don't hurt me," I felt warm tears trickle down my face, but the man in front of me showed no mercy. His eyes were cold, unfeeling.

"My boss would not be happy if you lived a second time," The man flipped out a pocket knife and smiled cruelly, "But I might get a raise if I make you suffer." My entire body shook with fear as he drew the knife closer and closer to my skin. Closing my eyes I turned my head from the arm that he was going to cut. I certainly didn't want to see.

The knife was sharper than what I imagined. Without much pressure it slid into my skin. Blood gushed through my arm and I gave up and looked at it. The red blood was less shocking as the pain filled my arm. I couldn't think about anything else. I remembered this. I remembered this feeling. I remember this happening once before

Laughing, they laughed at my pain then. I was tied to a chair and they hurt me in whatever ways they could. I didn't understand what they wanted, or who they were.

"What's going on? Who are you?" I sobbed but no one answered my questions, my pleas, or my screams.

"Look, she doesn't even remember us," I couldn't see who was speaking because of how dark the room was, "She doesn't even know about all we did for her." They stepped into the light and I saw their face. It was a girl, or rather a women. She was covered in scars and honestly she scared me.

"What... What did you do for me?" The women laughed and came closer.

"My dear, we raised you." She smiled while holding up a knife, "I'm your real mom." With that she stabbed it into my wrist, causing me to let out an ear-wrenching, blood-curdling scream.

"Get away from her," Suddenly I was back in the present. I looked to my right to see Eli standing just outside the doorway, his eyes blazed with fury, seeming to have a fire within them. He looked into my eyes as the man cut deeper, making me start to whimper.

"What are you gonna do Eli?" The man taunted him, "You can't exactly stop me." The knife blade cut deeper and I let out a cry.

"Eli... Please.." Tears slipped uncontrollably from my eyes. The pain mixed with the memory was too much. I started to slowly lose consciousness. Darkness ate away at the edges of my vision as I started to slump against the wall. Before I knew it I felt the knife leave my arm and I heard the man cry out and stumble away. Warm arms wrapped around me and the last thing I saw were Eli's blue eye, filled with heartbreaking worry.
