"Princess no!" I cried out, but it was clear she couldn't hear me or Jay screaming. She was set on her choice. She wanted us to live even if it was without her. I felt this sense of deja-vu. She was doing exactly what my sister did. She was sacrificing herself for me.

Thud, both of their bodies fell to the floor simultaneously. Crimson blood spread around them, making it hard to tell who was injured more. Tamara's eyes met mine, and I stretched my hand through the bar as far as I could. She did the same, and our fingertips brushed together.

"Please don't leave me," I whispered just loud enough for her to hear. Jay sprinted across the warehouse his phone already in hand.

"I... Don't... Want.. To..." She strained to talk already losing consciousness, "I.. Love..." She stopped her eyes shutting for what seemed to be the last time. Forcing myself to my feet, I pushed with all of my strength to try to open the door. I knew it was hopeless without the key to the cell, but I was stuck in almost a panicked trance. Blood was still dripping down my leg, making my head feel light. I didn't care. If she was gone then there was nothing left for me. I needed her. My muscles burned with the strength I was putting into opening it.

Sirens filled the air. We were luckily very close to the hospital. Paramedics rushed into the warehouse. Two of them went to Tamara while two others came to me. Jay must've told them that I was in a cage, because they cut the lock off without a second thought. My vision blurred, but I tried to watch Tamara. They picked her up put her on a stretcher and then she was gone. As I fell to the ground I almost felt peace. I knew that whether I lived or died, whether Tamara lived or died, it was over. Neither of us would feel pain other than if we lost each other. Finally I would get the chance to think about a future, and I hoped, with all of my heart, that Tamara would be by my side.
