Chapter 13

Y/N had been waiting anxiously for a reply from the person she texted. But when she woke up in the morning, she never thought she would be in a busy day.

She had received an urgent call from Manny earlier in the morning to come to the academy as soon as she could and she knew that there must be something urgent happening. She immediately jumped out of bed and took a quick shower before pulling on a normal shirt and leggings before pulling on her old sneakers that has been kept away under her bed for a long time since she had been wearing heels and dresses. She combed her hair and then walked out of her room bringing along her phone, telling herself she would check on it when she had some time.

When her mother noticed her, she went wide eyed.

" Honey, why are you wearing..."

" Need to be quick, mom. Dresses and heels are just too late to be put on. Bye. Love ya." Y/N interrupted her mother as she rushed past the queen.

" Where are you going?" the queen shouted at her.

" The academy!" Y/N shouted back as she walked out the door and instead of waiting for the normal carriage to arrive, she grabbed the nearest bicycle she could reach in the huge garage before cycling quickly to the academy... feeling more like her old self again.

She parked the bicycle at a corner in front of the academy before walking up the polished steps and into the academy.

She frowned when she saw everyone was crowding in front of Pegasus's room. She approached them and tapped a tall girl's shoulder, who happened to be Honey Lemon, a member of the Big Hero 6.

" Hey, what's wrong?" she asked.

Honey turned around to look at her.

" Oh, Y/N... it's getting more worse, Pegasus's condition, I mean. Now she's flickering, not glowing, with light and sending sparks now and then... like a spoiled robot. I don't know what's happening other than that. I just caught a glimpse of her. You should really go and see her... just squeeze through these people. Wait a second, guys! Princess Y/N is here! Let her pass through!" Honey shouted across the people.

Everyone then turned to Y/N and made way for the princess to walk.

" Thank you." Y/N said, and curtsied before standing straight and striding forward until she came exactly in front of Pegasus's room which was opened wide and then she gasped.

Pegasus was indeed... flickering with white light. Manny was beside her talking in a low voice  and stopped when he heard Y/N gasped.

" Y/N... glad you finally came," he said though a hint of panic clearly showed in his calm voice. " And you're not wearing your royal attire, I see." he added with a sad smile.

" Yeah... I was in a rush. So, what's happening to her?" Y/N asked while her eyes were still on Pegasus.

She tried to look away, but she can't seemed to be capable of it. It was frightening and beautiful at the same time.

Pegasus's skin was flickering, a moment it was a bluish white glow, then the next moment it was her normal skin, then it repeated again. Her eyes were two pools of white glowing light... no pupils. Her hair was free and floating, even though there's no wind. White sparks of light seemed to radiate from her body. She was sitting on her bed as still as a statue. Not speaking. And definitely not moving. Just... flickering.

" She's been like this starting from heaven knows how long. I came to check on her and she's not replying, so I have to open her door forcefully. Then I found her sitting like this. I don't know what's wrong with her... I'm supposed to know everything! But now, I realize, not everything that I'm capable of knowing. Can you help? I'm desperate, Y/N... I can't see my daughter like this. I don't know what she's been through... I..." he choked then and covered his face with his hands.
