Chapter 27: Little Bug part 1

Betty's P.O.V
"No Juliet wait for mommy!" I said while catching up to her and grabbed her hand
"But I'm hungry"
"You just ate"
"I'm still hungry"
"Well we are almost there"
"Where are we going mommy?"
"You'll see" I replied heading in the direction of Pops. Eventually the big neon light was in full view

"is this the place you and daddy went to when you were growing up?" Juliet was always curious about Riverdale and why we never went there, why our parents always came to visit us.
"Yes Juliet me, daddy your aunt and uncle spent a lot of time here"
"Can we get a milkshake? Daddy said those are good oooh I want a hamburger" I laughed she definitely got her fathers appetite when we walked in I looked around, the place was still the same even after all this time

"Hey Betty" I turned my head and saw Pop at the counter I smiled
"Hi Pop" Betty hid behind my leg tugging on my pant leg, among many similarities with her father she's also shy and doesn't talk to many people. I looked down at her
"Juliet why don't you say hi to the nice man"
"Hello little one" Pop said
"Hello" she said quietly still behind me but poked her head out her black hair resembling her dad but shared my eye colour

"Two vanilla milkshakes?" I nodded
"And... and a hamburger" I chuckled
"Make that 2 Pop and some fries Jughead should be here soon" Pop nodded shortly after we got our milkshakes and burgers thanked Pop and went to go sit down
"Now are you sure you can drink that and have your burger?" I asked Juliet just nodded a couple minutes later the door opened and I looked up surprised to see Archie and Veronica standing at the door along with Jughead I smiled
"Daddy!" Juliet got off her seat and ran towards Jughead

"Juliet! Be careful!" Jughead bent down to hug her and picked her up to spin her around
"Daddy your back!"
"I'm back princess were you a good girl?"Juliet nodded
"I had a burger and milkshake"
"Really? Did you enjoy it?"
"I did can we come here more?" Jughead laughed
"Maybe" Juliet wrapped her arms around Jughead and waved to Archie and Veronica
"Hi uncle Archie hi auntie V"
"Hi Juliet did you have a good time with mommy?" Veronica asked
"I did but we missed daddy"
"Well I missed you too" Jughead said then looked in my direction "I missed you both"

Jughead sat down next to me and immediately wrapped his arms around me and kissed me only briefly and said "I missed you so much" I put my hand on his face "I missed you too" I kissed him on the check then Jughead noticed the burger on his plate
"And I missed you too" he said turning his attention to the food I smirked and so did Archie and Veronica
"You know you wouldn't miss it as much if you visited more" Archie said
"Don't try to guilt trip me now Arch I'm eating and besides you guys don't exactly fly down monthly to visit"
"No but at least we visit on Christmas"

Jughead put down the burger and sighed I wrapped my arm around him
"All I'm saying Jug is that your family misses you I know it doesn't seem like it but they do, you Betty and Juliet" Jughead was silent I know he was thinking about his family and how little he talks to them his dad probably and his sitter but he has little to no communication with his mother. Archie saw Jugheads face turn "Hey I'm sorry man that was a shitty thing to bring up"
"No your right I don't see them enough, Betty talks to her parents daily and face times them so Juliet sees her grandparents and the come and visit us but I haven't even begun to introduce her to my family" Jughead looks down at Juliet

"Juliet do you want to meet your other grandparents"
"I have more?" Jughead laughed
"Well yes little bug where do you think Daddy came from? He has a mommy and daddy too and a sister so you have another aunt" in a quite voice Juliet said
"Will they like me?" This time Archie laughed
"Don't worry Juliet they will like you better then your dad"
"Hey!" Jughead said giving Archie a smirk
"So Juggie do you want to go visit your family?" Talking is one thing but Jughead has never properly contacted his family in years and never once invited them to come see us. Jughead looked at me

"Yeah I think it's time just let me call my dad and warn him when we knock on the door" Jughead climbed out of the booth and headed towards the bathroom not before saying hi to Pop briefly. A few minutes later Jughead came out and Juliet was telling Archie and Veronica about her days at school
"And my teachers say I'm the best reader in the class"
"Wow that's impressive" Archie said
"Maybe you could read me something sometime" Veronica added and Juliet nodded then Jughead sat down

"My Dad is ecstatic that we are coming over pretty sure he's cleaning the house from top to bottom right now" I giggled
"We were just discussing Juliets amazing reading skills" Jughead looked at her
"Really? Maybe you could read to me tonight after we finish visiting grandpa and even your auntie Jellybean is in town"
"Why is her name Jellybean? That's a cool name Mommy can I change my name" Jughead laughed
"Trust me Juliet she would be welcome to trade you"

We talked in Pops for a bit before heading off to Jugheads house, they moved out of the trailer just before Jughead graduated and lived in a house on the Northside with FPs stable job they could afford it. It was still just Jugheads Dad living there but occasionally JB will come home and visit. On the car ride there Juliet was looking out the window and I decidedly bring up what I know is a sore topic for Jughead

"Juggie I know this isn't the greatest thing for you to talk about but ... how are we going to explain to Juliet that she only has a grandpa and not a grandma" Jugheads first tightened around the wheel
"I don't know" Jughead said and was quite the rest of the drive. The only words were Juliet asking what everything was on the drive which we were happy to answer, around others Juliet was shy but around us she was a curious little girl who eventually wants to grow up to see the world one day I can already imagine it, I just hope that this step is the right thing for both Juliet and for Jughead.

Awkward ending is awkward ok so it's 99% fluff but it's Jugheads life ok naturally it's not all gonna be fluff
