That next day at school, Jasper walked with me to History. We chatted quietly throughout class and then Alice walked with me to our classes before lunch came around. Bella gave me a look telling me she was annoyed and I couldn't help but laugh. I looked to see that Rosalie, Alice and Jasper were sitting at their table, the three talking with their heads close together. I felt slightly sad that Jasper didn't want to sit with me today.

Everyone at the lunch table was excited about the trip. Mike was putting a lot of trust in the local weatherman who promised sun tomorrow. Bella and I laughed. I'd have to see it to believe it.

I talked with a few people at the table and I kept noticing a girl named Heather giving Bella and I dirty looks.

"... don't know why Bella and Louisa" – I heard her sneer our names – "doesn't just sit with the Cullen's from now on."

"You know, Heather," I started with a small smirk on my face. "If you want to say something like about us why don't you go ahead and tell everyone."

She looked at me with a nasty look in her eyes. She brushed her slick, silver blonde hair, over her shoulder and continued to glare at me. I raised my eyebrow at her before crossing my arms over my chest.

"That's what I thought." I said as Bella laughed. I looked to see an amused Jasper glancing my way.

As soon as I got home I went to bed. I wasn't feeling well and I wanted to make the trip to La Push in the morning so I wanted to get well rested. I slept pretty well that night but I woke up to see clear yellow light streaming through the window. I couldn't help but feel happy as I stood up and saw the sun shining bright in the sky.

"Bella!" I hollered as I ran into her room and started to jump on her bed. "The suns out!"

I went back to my room and slipped on a pair of jeans and a red flannel. I put on a pair of warm socks and a pair of my black hiking boots. I braided my hair over my shoulder before Bella and I left. We'd never been to the Newtons' Olympic Outfitters store even though we'd seen it. We never needed anything there though. We parked beside Mike's Suburban and Tyler's Sentra. As we pulled up we could see the group standing in front of the Suburban. Eric was there, along with two other boys. I think their names were Ben and Conner. Jess was there with Angela and Lauren. Three other girls stood with them. I watched as a girl gave us a dirty look before whispering something to Lauren. Lauren shook her hair out and glared at us.

So it was going to be one of those days.

Two can play at that game.

"You came!" Mike said with excitement. "And I said it would be a sunny day, didn't I?"

"We told you we'd come." I reminded him.

"We're just waiting for Lee and Samantha... unless you two invited someone..." He added.

"Nope." I answered but I secretly hoped Jasper would appear.

"Will you ride in my car? It's that or Lee's mom's minivan."

"Sure." Bella and I answered at the same time. We giggled at each other.

"You can have shotgun." Mike said to me.

"Nah, let Jess." I said as I noticed her glaring at us. Lee brought two extra people. So every seat was necessary. Jessica sat between Mike and I in the front seat and Bella sat behind us. It was only fifteen miles to La Push from Forks. There were dense green forests along the roads and the wide Quileute River snaking beneath it twice.
