"So that's what I want to try." Cory told T'ilvesh as they walked towards the training area.

"Anything is worth a try." the Commander said "But why you? What you suggest is extremely dangerous."

"As it stands now I'm the only one that knows how to use the weapons we brought back the plans to." Cory responded

"Makes sense," T'ilvesh returned "But you'll have to train our forces on their use if this works."

"That will be my pleasure." Cory said.

As they entered the bay that was the training area they found that the weapons were ready for trials. Cory picked up a bow and a quiver of arrows then turned towards the target that had been set up at the other end of the bay. He nocked an arrow, aimed and released. The arrow thudded into the target just shy of dead center.

"It's been awhile," Cory said "My aim is a little off."

"Remarkable," T'ilvesh said "Such a simple weapon."

"Simple but deadly." Cory told him "Silent as well. That might be the advantage we need."

"True." came the response "It just might be. But you said that you had no combat training. How is it you know how to use these weapons?"

"I've never used them to shoot at anything living, just targets." He replied.

Cory showed the Commander how to use the bow, how to aim and release. The Commander picked it up quickly as Cory thought he would.

Next up was a rifle that was in a case next to the quivers. Ammunition was set in clips for loading into the guns. He inserted a clip into the rifle he chose. He aimed at the target.

"Cover your ears, Commander," Cory said "This can get loud"

T'ilvesh put his hands over his ears but still jumped when Cory squeezed the trigger. Being a .308 it was pretty loud in the training bay. The slug went dead center of the target, through it and into the wall were it left a deep dent. The Commander was impressed with Corys' skill.

"Can you start training troops in the use of these weapons?" He asked.

"I can start today with the squad and they can help with the rest, if you wouldn't mind." Cory said.

"Not at all." T'ilvesh replied "When can you start?"

"Right after breakfast, if that's OK with you." Cory stated.

"Excellent." the Commander said "I'll be here to learn as well."

"Great, I'll be back in an hour then." came the reply.

Cory walked to the mess hall for breakfast and to meet the rest of the squad. Hawk, Surni, Rufin and Krystal were waiting for him when he got there. He grabbed his food from the dispenser and sat next to Krystal.

"The Commander told me to meet you here. Any idea as to why?" Krystal asked him.

"Probably because you all are going to learn how to use the weapons we have from Earth." Cory stated "Then you get to train the others how to use them."

"Alright!" Hawk exclaimed "I always like to learn about new weapons and how to use them."

"You should enjoy this then." Cory said to him.

As he ate Cory filled them in on the rest of his discussion with T'ilvesh. He was going to use the weapons on the captive Ruchkitay to see if they would be effective. That would happen after he had trained the others.
