" A S G A R D has always been her home. It has always been the place in which she swore to protect, and she was going to do just that. Ever since she was a young child, her parents knew she was going to be trouble. Maybe it was the fact that she was as ruthless as her older brothers or the fact that she never stepped away from a challenge. Either way, the Goddess of Wisdom was a troubled child who just didn't know how to control her powers.

Her name was going to be one that every Asgardian knew, whether they liked it or not, for she was destined for more than just wrestling her brothers whenever she so pleased. Odin knew she was special, and by the time the girl would look to be thirteen on Midgard, she was summoned to the castle. With the fanciest dress her mother could sew, she was sent to see the King with a dashing smile and dark curly brown locks.

She couldn't hide the nervousness when she stood in front of Odin, curtsying on buckling knees. Odin couldn't help but chuckle at the nervousness that radiated from her skin, and raise a brow when she jumped at his voice— it seemingly boomed throughout the throne-room like thunder.

"Do you know who you are?" A simple question, is it not? But when the young girl told Odin her name, he disagreed, saying that he knew her name, but who was she? That question wasn't something the girl had thought of before, and she shook her head. Who is she? Odin couldn't help but full on laugh at the expression on the girl's face. He basked in the questions that swirled in her eyes, the confusion clear on her cheeks.

"You are the Goddess of Wisdom, and someday the leader of my Valkyrie."

And with that, the young girl relaxed, a small smile replacing her confused glare. "

F R I G G A slowly shut the leather book, her head swiveling as she looked at her beloved sons. The eldest, Thor, had his head lazily placed on his mother's shoulder, drool pooling on the side of his mouth, threatening to spill onto his mother's nightgown. The youngest, Loki, snored lightly, his head resting in his mother's lap. She couldn't help but smile as she delicately slipped out from underneath her boys, laying them comfortably on Loki's large bed.

She set the book down on the comforter to wrap the two in a large blanket, planting a light kiss on their temples. She stood straight, her nimble fingers picking up the leather-bound book. The tales of the Goddess was a favorite of her sons, yet no matter how hard they tried, they seemingly couldn't stay awake for longer than the first chapter.

Frigga couldn't help but chuckle at that thought, and the irony that they knew whom the stories were exactly about. She had noticed when Loki had befriended the shy brunette in one of the many gardens, or the very same brunette that had turned feisty and wrestled with Thor in the corridors within this very castle. She clutched the book close to her chest as she crept out of the boys' shared room, shutting the large golden door behind her as quietly as she could.

It shut with a click, and Frigga let out a breath that she had been holding in. It was like as if her holding her breath was the reason her sons were still asleep, despite the little noise she had caused. She shook her head, looking down at the book with a smile, before she walked as quietly as she could to return the book back to the grand library of Odin's. Her heels clicked, echoing off the large walls of the golden corridor, and the smile never faltered as she thought of the girl from the book.

The girl who would someday protect the very same boys who slept soundly in their room at this very moment.
