After Davi, Nadine and Neymar Sr were the next one to say good night before going to bed, and then, Carolina.

Jo and Rafaella were arguing about the Christmas film that they were going to watch, and Cassie expected Neymar to either say good night as well or invite her to watch the film with his siblings, but he didn't at all.

"Have you ever been on the roof?"

"Uh, yep," she shrugged, "once or twice. Have you?"

"Nope."

"Really?" she frowned, surprised.

"Are you coming with me?"

"Of course. I need to stop at my apartment to take a jacket, though, because it's col—"

"It's okay, I have tons of jacket here," he opened the closet in the entrance. "Do you want a PSG one or a Barça one?" he asked very seriously, and she raised an eyebrow.

"A PSG one," she decided, and he gave her a navy blue jersey with the PSG logo.

With his smell everywhere on it.

I should have chosen the Barça one, he doesn't wear it anymore, contrary to this one, why am I that stupid?

"Bye guys, we're out!" Neymar said to Rafa and Jo before opening the door, and Cassie stepped out of the apartment, followed by the Brazilian.

They were living on the last floor, so they just had a couple of stairs until they were in the roof. Cassie smiled as soon as she saw the view: she didn't come here that often, but she really liked it here. She loved to be higher than most of the people, she loved to be closer to the sky, to the stars. There was too much pollution for them to be able to see the stars, but it was okay, because the view on the houses and buildings was enough.

"Wow, it's amazing," Neymar whispered, and Cassie nodded her head. He sat on the floor, his back on the wall, and Cassie did the same, carefully leaving a little space between them. It was just the two of us, they didn't need to pretend anymore.

Well, he doesn't have to pretend anymore, because you are not pretending anything.

"Did you have a great Christmas Eve?" he asked, and she nodded.

"It was amazing, thank you. I love your family. Did you?"

"I did. Our Christmas Eve are still the same after everything, you know? With them I am not 'Neymar the football player' but just 'Neymar'."

"That's what family is for," she nodded, "just being ourselves with any title or anything."

"I really like that."

"I can imagine."

Neymar suddenly looked at Cassie and frowned before moving himself closer to Cassie. She tried her best to keep a straight face, but on the inside, she was already dead.

Calm down, he's your friend. Just your friend.

"Do you think that we are going to see Santa Claus?" Neymar asked very seriously, and she smiled.

"Nope. He's not coming till all the children are asleep."

"Are we children now?"

"You are," she said before bursting out laughing, and he rolled his eyes.

"I really think you are. But whatever helps you sleep at night."

"I am not."

"Yes, you are."

"No, I am not."

"Thank you for tonight," he suddenly said. "I mean, you're pretty good at pretending that you are in love with me."

"Am I?" she asked with a small voice, and he nodded.

"Everyone's bought it. And they really like you. And Carolina never said it clearly, but she didn't like my former girlfriends so you are very lucky."

"Do you think that Davi likes me?"

Oh boy. Why do you care? You're not even dating the guy!

"He asked me if you'll be there tomorrow to open the presents with us before going to bed."

"He did?" She smiled. "Now that I met him, I can confirm that he looks like you. I mean, on the inside. Really."

"Oh? Is he a forceur like me?"

"Not as much as you. You are #1."

"Of course I am," he said with a proud smile, and she raised an eyebrow.

"You need to stop being proud of it. It is not a compliment."

"It's still better than Stubborn."

"I really don't think so but it's just my personal opinion."

He shook his head with a smile, and she smiled as well. They stay quiet for a while, just looking at the sky--that was actually pretty clear. No signs of snow on Christmas Eve whatsoever.

"Cassie."

"Yep?" She looked at him, surprised that he broke the silence just to say her name.

"I...was kind of not pretending," he said and she didn't have time to ask him what the hell he was talking about, because his hand was already on her cheek, and his lips brushing hers.

The first thing Cassie did was to ask herself what the fuck before mentally shrugging and kissing him back.

So they stayed here, in the roof, kissing each other under the navy blue sky until being out of breath.

"Merry Christmas Cassie."
