Popular rookie boy group Wanna One claimed the top spot on Melon Music Award’s Kakao Hot Star Award poll when voting ended!
Online voting in the award show’s Kakao Hot Star Award poll opened on November 7and closed at midnight KST on November 21. The Kakao Hot Star Award is a special category of this year’s Melon Music Awards that asked Kakao users to choose their favorite star and song.
In first place when the voting ended was Wanna One’s debut track “Energetic”with 3,478,663 votes. Wanna One claimed first place since the first day, and managed to defend their spot to the very end.
EXO placed second with their song “Ko Ko Bop.” The group was close behind Wanna One with 3,477,367 votes.
BTS took third place with their track “DNA,”with a total of 1,116,192 votes.
MAMAMOO’s “Yes I Am,” TWICE’s “Signal,” and GFRIEND’s “Summer Rain” were in fourth, fifth, and sixth place with 162,635 votes, 135,725 votes, and 80,490 votes respectively.

The Melon Music Awards will be held on December 2 at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
