Three weeks after the death of Eric Sully, and his funeral. Three weeks after much deliberation and debate the pack had come to the conclusion that the death of Eric Sully was meant to warn them off of protecting the humans in their village against malevolent supernatural attacks. Though they were not sure, this was the only theory that made sense and they wanted to present something to the pack that made sense, something that would ease their anxiety and bring things back to normal.
Danika said that the pack would not be scared by some tyrant and that they would continue protecting the humans and training as usual. Damian told them they were to stay low, stay alert and that Tim was not to Travel publicly anymore and that Lilly was not to shift in public either. They all agreed and the meeting was adjourned. No one looked at nor did they care about where the Tyrant might have come from or if he had other plans or ulterior motives. Their Alphas were confident and in them, they would trust. If it was important, surely they would have brought it up.

"It's kind of weird isn't it?" Asher asked when the five were alone in their spot in the forest behind the institution.
"What is?" Lilly questioned turning her eyes away from the sky to look at Asher
"That Danika and Damian never told us that there were other 'attacks'. You know? They didn't tell us anything" Asher continued, eyes squinting against the sun
"Maybe they thought it wasn't important" Lilly shrugged continuing to gaze at the clouds passing by overhead
"How could they think someone writing in blood all over the Institute walls wasn't important enough to tell us?" He persisted, Asher was a worrywart, all the time.
The others stayed quiet, and then
"Maybe they didn't want to worry us?" Tim offered in a hopeful voice even though they, including him, knew that wasn't true.
"No, they bother us about someone putting an empty milk carton back in the fridge" Asher said exasperatedly
"Even though we all know it's you who does that" Sizwe laughed.
"Okay so, not the point" Asher rolled his eyes, a small smile playing at his mouth
"Stay out of it Ash - Curiosity killed the cat" Ada shot
"But, Satisfaction brought it back" Asher completed the quote smugly, while Ada and Lilly jumped up looking at each other with furrowed eyebrows
"What?" The surfer blonde boy asked.
"You finished a quote correctly" Lilly said leaning over the picknick basket to feel Asher's forhead
"are you feeling okay? Maybe you have a fever" Ada asked seeming genuinely worried. Asher rolled his eyes leaning back on his elbows and away from Lilly's hand
"Yeah, yeah, very funny, ha ha ha I'm laughing so hard" Asher said sarcastically
"Im telling you guys something's wrong and you're missing out on all this intralect" Asher said tapping his temple.
"And he's back" Ada smiled laying her head back on Tim's chest. Lilly looked over at the pair of them - Ada and Tim - as Tim's hand intertwined their fingers and Ada's other hand reached up to play with his hair. Tim smiled down at Ada like she was a sunny day, Lilly had to look away from them.
"Wait, now that I think about it," Sizwe said suddenly, sitting up facing the other four "Asher could have a point - this is all a bit sketchy."
"Yeah and how so?" Lilly asks taking a swig of her coke
"You remember when we had that meeting a really long time ago and Danika played that joke on you -said your vote could determine whether or not Eric Sully dies or lives?" He asked and Lilly sat up too. The group fell silent "...You don't actually think? You know...?"
"- That Danika and Damian would murder Eric? No" Tim said hard and sure
"Why not dude?" Asher asked "What would stop them?"
"Maybe its the fact that we're all a family" Ada who was the last to sit up had said,
"No, not just that," Tim answered "Don't you know?" The group turned to him tentatively
"Well I guess I shouldn't be telling you but Sully's dead so I guess it doesn't matter" he sighed which earned him a slap from his girlfriend
"Passed away - you pununu!" She corrected. Where Ada is from they don't believe in speaking disrespectfully on the deceased because they believe that the impression the deceased have of you matters as they tell their God what each person is like and whether or not they should be let into heaven. The final decision though was God's. So, even the word "dead" was taboo.
Lilly - though she did not believe in it - for some reason, hoped that Eric made it into heaven.
"Sorry - yes, Since he passed away I guess I could tell you" Tim said
"Proceed" said Asher raking a hand through his hair in anticipation
"Damian and Eric were -" Tim put his two index fingers together. It took a moment to click and then,
"Oh.. OH.. okaayy, okay but woah" Asher was saying while he rushed his hands through his hair.
"Why didn't they say anything?" Lilly asked and began to think about Eric Sully's kind smiles and Damian's flirtatious actions toward her. Was she just a cover?
"I honestly don't know -" Tim said "But that's the whole reason Danika and Damian are letting Eric's little brother stay with them"
"Holy shit" Lilly said downing her coke, Ada rolled her eyes
"Language"
"did you just say 'language'?" Sizwe asked smilingly, and Lilly replied:
"What-ch-ya gonna do about it, mom"
Ada leaned over and shoved Lilly's head to the side, the dainty blonde girl laughed, pressing her hand to her temple, feigning pain and then Ada kissed Lilly's cheek in a show of affection, both her hands grabbing at Lilly's face making the large swell of her breasts more prominent-
"Mmh Ada that was hot you should have let me take a picture" Asher said and she groaned as she sat down between Tim's legs again and pulled her top up
"Do you want to catch a slap Ash?" Tim asked his ears begining to match the colour of his hair. Ada kissed Tim in an attempt to cool him and Asher said
"Oh yeah, at least let me take a picture of this" Ada kicked his shin hard and Asher yelped like a puppy in pain.
"Ha, serves you right for being a pervert" Sizwe said lying down again
"Um, you're meant to be on my side!" Asher said sounding betrayed, with a hand to his chest
"No, you are so bad at hiding your perverted-ness" Sizwe laughed "until you get better I'll never be on your side" Asher punched his arm and said,
"Some best friend"
Lilly lay down again too and thought about Eric Sully and tried not to tear up. She thought that maybe he would have liked her but she knew now that she was a cover up. She looked up at the sky and wondered when anyone would love her. Ada's pinkie found hers and Lilly smiled briefly at her best friend. She wondered when anyone would love her in the way that Ada loved Tim.
