-----The Protégé-----

Gabriel

Last night filled me with rage. I wanted to kill him, I wanted to kill him so bad, but I knew Red would be mad at me if I do. I lazily got out of bed this morning. I took a shower and put on my clothes. Once that was done I could smell waffles coming from the kitchen. I went inside and saw Red standing by the counter, dishing waffles in two plates. One was for me and the other for her. She looked in such a good mood and I couldn't help but smile. Seeing her happy always made me happy. I love her bright smile, I love the her blue eyes twinkle whenever she looks at me, I love the way her hair swiftly moves down her shoulders. I love...everything. Her eyes got caught in mine as I stood against the wall with my arms folded, carefully watching her...gazing at her beauty. She walked pass me and put the plates on the dinner table, but my eyes never flickered away from her. The way this girl made me feel set fire to my heart. I wanted to hold her into my arms, but I couldn't. Falling in love with her would change things completely. We sat down at the dinner table and ate the waffles, neither one of us speaking. Was she mad at me for punching Ezra? Maybe she wanted him to kiss her. The thought of the two of them together stung my chest. No, it can't be. I saw her try to push him away.

"I don't think we'll ever be friends again after what happened tonight." Her voice echoed in my head.

Once we were done eating she washed the plates and packed them away after drying them. I could hear her phone vibrate. She looked at the screen and I could tell that it was him once she switched the phone to voicemail and put it back in her pocket.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked her.

She looked upset now and that really worried me as she shook her head. I wanted to make her happy, but how? I wanted to know what she was feeling and wanted push whatever she kept bottled up out. I wanted to know what was bothering her. I've been having flashbacks of what happened last night. Ezra forcing his lips on my Red and me punching him. Was it me punching him that was bothering her?

"Red?" I said, hoping to get something out of her.

"My mother phoned. She said she'll be home before dinner." She said. I was really starting to hate Cecelia for Leaving her daughter at home every week. "We should get done, it's almost time to go to school."

Holy fuck.

School, I completely forgot that it was Monday. It's a good thing I got up early, all I needed to do was get my bag ready. Red, however, seemed to wear nothing but her pink and black T-shirt and pink panties. I guess she wasn't expecting me in the kitchen, which could be the cause of her smile.

In about 20 minutes, we arrived at school. It was unexpected for the principal to give me a locker that was right next to Red's. Since I was new to the school I needed to make friends. Maybe I should speak to that Troy guy.

"I'm going to the bathroom." I whispered to Red.

She nodded and I left afterwards, heading into the boy's bathroom.

"Your second day now am I right." I heard a guy speak behind me.

"Yeah." I answered after I turned around.

"I remember my first. It was pretty hard to make friends." He said.

The guy was blond, but had brown streaks which means that he must've dyed his hair blond. He looked masculine and an inch shorter than me. He had broad shoulders and was wearing a football jacket. He must've been a jock.
