I get woken up to cheers. Outside, millions of people are all cheering, yelling, whooping. I go outside. "What's going on?" I ask a man. "WE'RE FREE! Didn't you hear?" My heart stops. Free? As in, no-more-British free? I'll tell you one thing...
The world turned upside down.
And my John is coming home! I hear a knock, and rush to open it, only to find.....
"General Washington? What do you need?" Washington gives me a sad look "Miss Y/N, I'm afraid John isn't coming back. He's in South Carolina still. He might take a while to get back to New York. I'm sorry." I make a squeaking sound. John.... My John.... What if he's never coming back? No, don't think like that! Of course he's coming back!
"Thank you for the notification, Sir. I hope you have a wonderful day." I say, then promptly close and lock the door. He'll come back....
5 DAYS LATER
John is still not here. I'm getting a tiny bit worried. I hear another knock on the door. This time it was Eliza standing there. With a letter in hand.
"Y/N.... You have a letter from South Carolina."
