The Little Elfin Shoe.

Pitter Patter, Pitter Patter

was the echoing sound,

of a little Elfin boy dancing all around!

Twirling and swirling, and dancing in delight,

amongst the shadows of the silvery moonlight.

When all of a sudden with a startle, off he flew

leaving behind his little green, right shoe.

It had a long, curly and pointy end

Oh how dainty was the blue and green blend.

with a little tinkling silver bell

It cast the most mesmerising spell!

The shoe was stitched with silver spun thread

Sewn together were little leaves on the shoes head.

I picked it up, it was as light as a feather

and underneath were the soles made of leather.

I placed it on the counter with a little note,

There I sat and there I wrote:

“Dear Mr. Elf,

I believe this belongs to you,

As deary me, you’ve left your shoe!

It is very stunning and incredibly beautiful,

and I also imagine it’d be quite dutiful.

So here it is, your dancing shoe

and believe me, yes I knew!

Of your dancing amongst the midnight dew.

May you continue your little fun,

and perhaps next time you won't run.

Now, Mr. Elf, I bid you adieu

and say goodnight from me to you.”

Later that night returned the elf

and took his shoe but thats not all else.

He read the note, and in dedication

An elfin coin he gave with his appreciation.
