LINGERING STARES
"I stared at you; Often
The kind that made you look better or feel better than you actually were,
The kind of stares that appreciate every line & crevice on your face,
The kind that makes you breathe in that scent and breathe out the realities of the world.
Though that was before reality hit harder.
I thought we'd click, I thought we were good enough to fit.
I smiled hard.
I thought softer.
Life felt better or frankly, it felt like I was daydreaming
But you were too good;
Too much to grasp all at once -
The depths of my pain couldn't cover the imperfections that lie there".
