Evelyn walked with Ron and Harry beside her as they followed Hagrid towards a large lake, where many boats sat. The stars sparkled against the lake as a glow was shown over the curve of the lake's horizon. And as Evelyn wrapped her arms over her chest, she couldn't help but think that this was one of the most beautiful sights she had seen.

"Hurry up; we don't want any of yeh to get lost."

Hagrid shouted, taking Evelyn out of her thoughts as the giant kept looking back towards the tiny first years behind him.

"Four people in a boat, hurry up."

Hagrid stated as they ended up right at the edge of the shore. And standing beside the mass of boats, Hagrid kept a watchful eye over all the students as they clambered into the vessels.

Evelyn, Harry, and Ron sat together in a boat, and as Evelyn got comfortable, she turned her head to look at the students around her. In a boat near them, she saw Opal Williams sitting next to Lavender Brown. Besides them sat a brown-haired boy and another brunette Evelyn had never seen before. Hermione stood awkwardly to the side, and Evelyn couldn't help but feel bad for her.

"You can sit with us."

Evelyn said, motioning Hermione towards her. The bushy-haired girl smiled in response and headed toward Evelyn and her friends. Ron groaned in annoyance as Evelyn jabbed him in the arm as Hermione sat across from her and Ron.

"Thank you," Hermione said shyly, "I felt kind of awkward just standing there."

"No problem," Evelyn replied as she watched in astonishment as the boats began to float without any natural causes toward the school once everyone got into a boat. She had seen her fair share of magic living with the Weasley, but she honestly didn't think she'd ever get tired of it.

"You know it's called a floating spell; a witch made it in the 1880s."

Hermione said as Evelyn couldn't help but nod her head as a sign of attention. She personally didn't find Hermione's constant knowledge dumping annoying, but she would admit Hermione had a bit of an ego on her. And her continuous talking could be perceived as rather arrogant.

"And... You look bored."

Hermione finished as she noticed the bored expression on everyone else's faces.

"Look, you seem nice, but you don't have to try to impress all the time."

Evelyn stated as she gave Hermione a small smile. She knew the need to try and impress, and because of this, she felt an affinity towards her, especially as a witch who had never known about the Wizarding World until now. Evelyn felt like she had a lot to prove, something she could see in Hermione.

Hermione simply nodded her head in agreement, and from the corner of her eyes, she saw Ron seemed to let out an 'thank you.' A slight frown appeared on her face as Evelyn tried to keep the peace by asking more about Hermione and Harry.

"So, do any of you have any siblings?"

"I don't have any siblings, though I've always wanted a little sister."

Hermione spoke as the group heard a scoff from behind them, and as they turned, Evelyn instantly recognized the two girls from earlier. The deep frown still etched onto the amber-eyed girl as she sat in a boat close to the boat with the girl with cropped black hair. On either side of the blonde sat a boy. On the left, a boy with dark brown hair and hazel brown eyes, and on the right sat a boy with steel-grey eyes and platinum blonde hair. Another boy sat in front of the blonde girl, though he looked more like a bodyguard, especially with his large frame. He had dark brown eyes and even darker hair. In the brunette girl's boat, she sat with three other males. Besides her was a tall, skinny guy with dark brown hair and eyes that seemed to shift from blue and green. And across from them, a boy similar to the bodyguard in the other boat sat with a boy with dark skin and light eyes. And from the looks of it, he was the one who had scoffed.
