I looked around me. Everything is covered in white. The trees, the leaves, the grass, the stone, the sand and the roofs. I smiled when I looked at the lake in front of me. The brilliance of the ice covered lake as the moonlight reflects on its surface.
I looked above. Obviously, it’s night time already kasi nakikita ko ang mga stars and the moon. Pero nagtataka ako bakit ang liwanag na parang umaga samantalang gabi na.
And isn’t it the same place in my dream?
Tumayo ako mula sa pagkakaupo ko sa bench and walked to wards the fence sorrounding the ice. Tiningnan ko ng maigi ang lake kung may makikita akong nagcskate, pero wala. I breathe a sigh of relief knowing na hindi pala ito ang panaginip ko dati.
Hindi matutunaw ang yelo sa lake at kahit matunaw pa siya, hindi ko kailangang magworry kasi wala si Johann at ang anak namin na nagcskate.
Ngumiti ako and looked up at the sky again. Hindi ko alam bakit ang payapa ng damdamin ko ngayon. Yung pakiramdam na hindi ka natatakot at kampante ka sa lahat.
Yung lahat ng worries, mga problems and all the doubts are gone. What’s left is utter peacefulness.
Nasa ganun akong state when I felt a hand covered my other hand na nakahawak sa gilid ng fence. Tiningnan ko ang may gawa and I saw the smiling face of Johann.
I smiled at him too and he tightened his hold on my hand. Napangiti ako lalo. The warmth of his hand ease the coldness that’s brought by the winter.
“Hindi ko napansin na dumating ka.”
“Because you are so engrossed by the view.” Sabi niya sabay tingin din sa gitna ng lake.
“Isn’t she beautiful?She looks so much like you” Dagdag pa niya. Napatingin ako bigla sa tinitingnan niya at nanlaki ang mga mata ko nung makita ko ang batang babae sa nagcskate. The same girl on my dream. Happily skating and waving at us. Her giggles echo around the place.
