Recap: something happened with Tris' mom and then someone ran in before she could tell Tris
Tris POV
Tobias runs in and look excited. "Bea! My mom invited me to live with her!" Toby told me.
That's awesome, because his mom is the best! She would bring me and Toby to the park when we were little! "Toby that's amazing, your mom is the best!" I looked to my crying mom,but thank goodness she left the room, probably to the kitchen. "Since Marcus is gone, he of course doesn't have custody anymore!" Toby says. Since his dad was the mayor, he can't be anymore of course, they automatically thought he was more fit to be in custody, yeah stupid cops.
He was supposed to visit his mom regularly, but Marcus...yeah. "THAT'S AWESOME TOBY WHEN ARE YOU LEAVING!" I scream. "Now ya wanna come?" He asks. Before I can answer my mom walks in looking better than before, she stopped crying. It must be bad, because she never crys.
"Tris, I need you to stay here so we can talk." my mom says. I nod and hug Toby, and he leaves.
My mom tells me that she and my dad are getting divorced! And that for awhile now dad has been getting- angry easily. Me and Caleb are living with him, because like Marcus l, my dad is in the government and they think it will be better for him.
2 months later
School is out and my parent's divorce is final, I move in with my dad, Andrew today. Since the day my mom told me about the divorce, I've noticed my dad is angrier than normal. I say bye to my mom and head over to my dad's. Caleb and him are standing there waiting for me- and they have a wicked grin on their face. "Hello Beatrice, how nice for you to come over. They now look my mad, I'm starting to get scared...
"Its your fault I got a divorce and that Marcus is in jail, you are going to pay." Andrew, the man I thought loved me said.
"I agree, you are a brat and I wish you weren't alive!" Caleb shouts.
"You are going to keep your mouth shut or I will kill Tobias!" He says. I have no other choice...
I have to take the punishment.
