Chapter 3

The digital clock on the desk blinked 00.00 yet Nathanael was completely oblivious to it as he tossed another crumpled up idea over his shoulder. He had spent 3 hours straight sketching idea after idea for his project not feeling the least bit tired. He didn't know why but he had the sudden urge to draw concept after concept of what might happen when he met his soulmate. It all started when he had gotten off the phone with Alix after she called him up screaming about who she had found out to be soulmates with: Kim. Nathanael couldn't tell if she was over the moon or over life with her soulmate reveal.

She and Kim had gotten into another argument over who's project concept was better. She said she was about ready to throw hands when a red glow shown from her chest followed by the pink in his. Apparently neither had said anything and simply walked away. It didn't hit her until she was home sitting on her bed in a daze with no idea of how she ended up there. The first person she had thought to talk to was Nath, her proclaimed best friend since the third grade.

Nathanael always knew the two would end up with one another, despite their constant feuds they just seemed perfect for each other. Alix was the only one who was able to knock Kim off his pompous pedestal with her challenging and adventurous character. It was obvious to Nathanael that the girl had a thing for Kim when she would constantly becoming to him about their latest challenge or quarrel back in the 9th grade. 

Nathanael slumped back into his chair as he recollected the handful of soulmate stories that he had managed to collect over the years. The first where of his parent's who had a simple reveal with them being coworkers when they were 16. His father and mother were in the midst of laughing when his father's chest began to glow purple as his mothers glowed a bright red. The next was of Ivan and Mylene which occurred during Ivan's akumatization, which was the only thing he could remember out of the entire ordeal.Then came Rose's reveal back during the summer of 10th grade with her boyfriend Prince Ali while they were saying their final farewells as he wouldn't be back to Paris until the next summer. The final call for Ail's flight was called out while a teary Rose held on to her boyfriend for a final time when a mix of green and pink emanated from between the two and seem to engulf them. That was the first time Nathaneal was able to witness such an even and it was all due to the fact that Rose called of Juleka, Alix, and him to come for support. The reveal seemed to strengthen their relationship because Ail came back to Paris for winter break instead that year and started to send jets over to bring Rose to his home town for spring break since then.

And how could he forget Juleka's secret? The girl had actually known who her soulmate was back when they were in middle school! Leon is 3 years their senior and the pair had found out when he was in 11th grade and Juleka in 7th. Juleka managed to keep the secret for almost 5 years from not only her friends but also her family, minus her mother. It wasn't until two weeks just before senior year when Alix was complaining about Rose and her soulmate's close lovey dovey bond that Juleka spilled the beans. Leon is a nice guy and compliments Juleka nicely with his bright and welcoming personality. The pair mainly bond over their similarities in music and movies, which is an odd mix of metal and romance. While Juleka is the dark mysterious night, Leon is the bright morning sun and that is what makes them fit so well, their yin and yang complex.

Each couple that Nathanael had met were completely different, varying from match types to the story behind the discovery. What would his own story be like? What would she be like? Would she be the daring type who couldn't wait for the next adventure? would she be the sweet type who loved to cook and constantly be asking him to try her latest recipe? Or would she be the book worm type that could spend hours upon hours reading a series only to be able to come out of her reading coma to talk about it with starry eyes that glimmered each time she was getting to her favorite parts? A small smile spread across the boy's face as he thought of his soulmate and the quirks she could possess.
