It was dark outside the base, the desert air was bitter as the sand blew across the dry earth by the breeze. The gang had just finished their dinner which was made by (Y/N). She was very good at making food which the men were very grateful for because Scout couldn't cook worth shit and the others were either too busy or too tired to cook. Lucky (Y/N) had no other duties besides cooking and cleaning the base anyways so she was always ready for nine hungry men to storm into the base, ready to eat. It made a small smile form onto her lips, she felt important to them but at the same time felt like she was betraying them, for the (H/L), (H/C) girl had a dangerous secret that no one but herself knew and she planned to keep it that way.

What (Y/N) didn't realise was that she had caught the eyes, or rather eye, of a certain explosion loving Demoman. He would always watch her as she cleaned or stood in the kitchen making food or small deserts. It made him feel like he was a young lad again, watching his mother make him homemade snacks which made a large, warm smile spread onto his lips. How could this girl be so perfect? How did they, or rather he, her so damn lucky to have a girl like (Y/N) in this hell hole? Maybe it was the whiskey talking but demo could have sworn that he saw your eyes change from their regular (E/C) color to a deep golden hue. Travish shook his head and rubbed his eyes. Yea, he was drunk. When he looked back your eyes were back to normal and you were lightly carting away with Dell about who knows what. Travis felt a small pang of jealousy his his heart but decided that a good night's rest is what he needed. So, he excused himself while going over to the countef and setting his plate into the sink. (Y/N) looked over and immediently got up, at his side in an instant which made the Scotsman jump in his boots. You were always so fast and in many different places faster than he could blink. It was odd, but he just assumed you had a talent for speed like Scout so he said nothing.

"Oh Travish! Don't worry about the dishes ok? I'll take care of them for you. Are you Ok? You look tired."

"Oh! I'm fine lassie, just a wee bit sluggish is all. I'm going to head off to bed now, goodnight (Y/N)."

You smiled softly at him as he then turned to walk towards his room. The other men soon did the same and bid you goodnight. Once everyone was gone and the kitchen was clean, you clenched your chest in pain as you hunched over the sink, your eyes changing gold as the clouds moved away from infront of the moon. You needed to leave, and quickly. Without a second thought, you raced out of the kitchen and out the back doors as fast as you could so no one could see, or hear, your painful transformation. How you kept this hidden for so long really surprised you. You'd be bragging about it right now if it weren't for the fact that you literally felt like you were being ripped apart from the inside out.

Travish, walled out to his usual spot by the small pond that rested behind the fort. You'd think that being in the middle of a scorching desert would have dried the pond up but nope. It flourished with clean water which was good for cleaning clothes and drinking. The Scotsman sat by the edge of the bank and threw small pebbles into the water, the ripples going out across the once still surface. He wanted to say something to you but with the other guys around, he'd only make a fool of himself. You were like a mystery he couldn't solve. In his half sober state, travish rubbed his eye and leaned against a large rock, watching the moon and all its glory when he heard the most ear piercing scream he could have ever heard. He jumped up and grabbed his gun from his belt while frantically looking around. There was no one in sight. At least, anyone he recognized. In the corner of his eye, he saw what appeared to be a large animal across the other side of the pond. It was too big to be a coyote and it was too tall to be any sort of wild cat. So what was It? Travish squinted his eye and saw that it was a large (F/C) wolf. His eyes widened at the sight, it looked oddly familiar.

The wolf was staring at its own reflection as the chilly night air blew in its fur and tail. It's golden eyes soon snapped onto his gaze and both the wold and travish jumped and ran opposite directions to get away from one another. The wolf, to him, was too beautiful to shoot and for some reason he felt like if he did shoot it...he would have made a grave mistake. He ran back inside the fort and slammed the door, locking it and breathed heavily. This alarmed the other mercenaries that were trying to sleep and soldier came running out with his shovel in hand and a nasty glare.

"What in the name of bald eagles is going on demoman?! Do you have any idea what time it is?! I should make you run fifty laps tomorrow morning!"

"Keep it down will ye?! Look, I saw somethin' out there! It wasn't a normal animal but it was something else! I have to tell (y/n)!"

Travish was about to go to your room when he saw you sneaking through the back door that he could of sworn he locked. Both he and soldier looked at you with raised eyebrows and you gasped and turned around, looking at them nervously. Both men glanced at each other then back onto your (B/S) form.

"(Y/N)? What are you doin' up?"

"Oh! I was just ugh..sleepwalking! I forgot to mention it to medic at dinner! Oops! Well, goodnight!"

You then ran to your room and slammed the door, startling both men. Travish has this suspicion that it was you he saw at the lake. But that couldn't be possible
