"Come on guys! We need to get going now while the good candy is still being handed out!"

"Easy there lassie! Soldier has his bucket still stuck in the car door."

"I DON'T NEED ANY OF YOUR PATHETIC HELP!!"

This year was supposed to be a somewhat normal trick-or-treating adventure but with these guys, when was any day normal?

You decided to dress up as a (your favorite creature/character) and for the first time you felt hella confident in how you looked. Your (H/L), (H/C) locks were done up in the appropriate style to give your made up face a hauntingly beautiful frame while at the same time it was definitely wild enough to classify as part of a costume.

The boys weren't very imaginative when it came to dressing up in costumes but they tried their best to out do the ones they were last year.

Medic decided to be Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde because he wanted to be, as he put it, "close to his true self." You weren't sure if that was meant to entertain or scare you but either way you gave him points for honesty and creativity. Archimedes had a bat costume on which was basically a black sweater with a purple felt stomach and a matching pointy eared cap to go on his head. It even had googly eyes!

Heavy went with the classical Frankenstein costume because he was properly built for the towering monster to begin with and he did an amazing Frankenstein impression. How could he refuse such a spot on character? At first he was hesitant to dress up but once he saw the pout you gave him, he caved and let you paint his face green and add stitches in all the right places.

Spy didn't bother dressing up because he claimed to be "too classy for such a childish holiday." He would just tell people that he was pretending to be a burglar or a hitman if they even asked. His baklava counted as a mask right? It was good enough because he wasn't budging for a different costume no matter how hard you begged.

Pyro wanted to be a unicorn princess and of course you helped him build the costume. He wore a large rainbow tutu around his waist with a headband on his head that had a golden horn glued on it adorned with blue, pink, yellow, and purple roses. There was a ton of glitter on the tutu and on the horn because Pyro insisted that he had to sparkle and shine to wow the children. He brought his balloonacorn with him to hold as well.

Scout was his favorite baseball player, Babe Ruth of course, and he loved to boast and broad about how awesome and totally accurate his costume was. Besides not having the exact same physic as Babe, Scout did make a pretty good Baseball player. And even if he didn't admit it out loud, he purposely made the tights well...tight which greatly defined his ass or his carboard cutouts as Spy called it. You tried not to laugh when he would bend over dramatically to grab the ball he "dropped" only for you to playfully shove him to the ground as he got a facefull of dirt.

Engineer's costume nearly melted your heart because he dressed up as his favorite cartoon character. Wall-E. He loved that little robot and wanted to design a line of sentries based off of Wall-E's design. He had a fake plant stuffed in his shirt pocket filled with dirt and the entire costume was made from metal and cardboard. It was mostly cardboard because the metal would become too much over time to carry around but he used the metal to give certain areas a feel of authenticity and character.

Sniper went as Steve Irwin and his stubborn hide refused to put on a jacket or wear any type of warm clothing because it would throw the entire costume off. The hair on his legs blew in the breeze and you could practically see his knees shaking from the cold, autumn air. He huddled with his large, blow up pool alligator floatie and with the way he was crushing the poor things neck, he definitely gave off an alligator wrestler vibe.

Demoman did a very traditional approach with his costume and settled with being a Viking with a fake beard glued onto his chin that was braided in some places thanks to both you and Pyros skilled hands. His trusty sword was at his hip and the large metal pads on his shoulders were trashcan lids that Engie skillfully molded and bented into thin armor shoulder guards. The thick fur collar around his neck and waist most definitely kept him warm because he didn't even complain once about the weather.

Then there was Soldier. Sweet, stubborn Soldier.

He decided to be a robot...again. However this time instead of using a cardboard box for the head he used his treasured bucket and glued red bulbs on the front of it to make the eyes and added hangers on his head for the antennas. The only flaw with this costume was that he was completely blind and had no eye holes in the bucket for him to see where exactly he was going. He didn't want to permanently damage his bucket and refused to go without it so it was a stalemate.

Because of this, he closed the door too early on himself while getting out and got his head stuck in between the car door, denting his helmet but thankfully his head was still in tact an unharmed. Well, aside from his pride that is.

Eventually Engineer found his car keys and unlocked the vehicle which led to Scout yanking the door open with Soldier flying ontop of Demoman causing the two to tumble about on the ground. You wanted to laugh but you could see the large frown under Soldiers bucket and it made you gently pat his shoulder instead and helped him up off of the crushed Viking.

"Aww it's okay Soldier, if it makes you feel any better she was a great bucket and did her service well just like you. I'm sure we'll find you another one."

"Thank you (Y/N), I think a proper burial is in order! A soldier like her deserves one!"

"Aww come on! We ain't got time for this!-"

Before Scout could finish, Spy slapped his hand across his mouth to silence him as you helped Soldier bury his damaged bucket while he gave a small speech about it to the rest of the team.

After the ceremony, you and the boys started going through the first few rows of houses with some adults giving you all odd stares because you were a bunch of grown ups getting candy alongside ten year olds but none of you particularly cared.

During the end of the night a little girl dressed up as a butterfly happened to compliment on Soldiers robot costume but mentioned that he didn't have a proper head piece for it. Before Soldier could tell the child off for stating the obvious, she dumped her candy into her mothers bag before placing her Halloween pale onto his head with a smile on her face.

The bucket was lime green with bats printed on it but it definitely was festive and matched the bottle cap buttons glued onto his chest. Soldier gave the little girl a bright smile and thanked her for the new helmet as he ran off to happily show you and the others. Of course he bumped into a few things along the way and tripped over some trash cans but in the end you had a wonderful time with your team members.

When you all got back home to the base, everyone tried to compare their candy piles with one another to see who had obtained the most sweets. Needless to say, Pyro had won that battle.

Now all that was left for you guys to do was to get into comfy pajamas and huddle up next to each other by the TV while munching on your hard earned treats watching scary movies and screaming like a bunch of little girls.

Except for Medic. He just smiled.
