Pidge's POV

I raised my hand and knock on my door. I hope Mom didn't move.

"Katie, calm down. It'll be fine." Dad placed his hand on my shoulder, attempting to soothe me.

The door nob turned. My breath hitched. The door opened, and there stood my mother.

"Hello. Can I-" she started dully, then looked at us.

"Ciao, mamma. Sono a casa." I smiled hopefully. "I found Dad and Matt."

"Oh, Katie," My mother wrapped her arms around me in a hug, not noticing Dad or Matt. "Are you okay?"

She ran her fingers through my hair. It was long now, almost as long as it had been before I cut it.

"I'm good, mamma. I'm finally home." And I returned her embrace. It was tight, but in the same way she always hugged me.

"Would now be a good time to say hello?" Dad asked, tentative. I felt mamma stiffen and look up.

"Sam? Matt? Is it really you?" The hope in mamma's voice was almost unbearable, like she had lost something and given up hope that it was still around.

My mother released me and threw her arms around Dad and Matt. Shiro was a little ways behind them, but mamma hugged him too.

"You're all alive! Oh, my precious family. I've missemarried She sobbed.

Matt elbowed his fiancée. "I told you she'd welcome you into the family. All that's left now is to get married." Shiro blushed and a small grin covered his face.

Mamma dragged us all inside. "What is the most important thing you have to tell me?" She asked ascshe sat us down on the couch, her hand intertwined with Dad's as if she would never let go.

"Um... I'm gay and Takashi and I are getting married!" Matt blurted out.

"Matthew." He stiffened. Mamma only used that name when he was in trouble or if it was something important. "I lived with you for years. I know you're gay. Congratulations on your fiancée."

"I got a cat." I stated bluntly. "Her name is Verde."

"Kathryn. You're allergic to cats." Mamma stated it was the most obvious thing ever.

"She's a robot and we saved the universe without any allergic reactions, so I think I'm good." I brushed some of my honey brown locks behind my ear.

"You what?" Mamma's voice was more incredulous than I imagined it would be.

"We saved the universe? It wasn't just me, Shiro helped." I replied.

My mother looked at Shiro. She examined his prosthetic arm, the scar across his nose, and the way that he sat. "I hope there were others?"

"Yes, dear. Katie isn't the only one with a giant, robot space lion. Shiro has one, as does his brother. And the two boys who disappeared with Katie are also paladins." Dad explained. "They from a massive robot and spred peace."

"Il robot ha le mani di gatto, mamma. Cat hands." Matt said, his eyes glowing. "They saved the universe with cat hands."

Please excuse any errors in the Italian, I used Google Translate. And I wrote all this at four am, so there's that. Like, I wrote the entire book. I was bored.
