Mother Russia

Silent voices from afar playing in our minds,

Rivers flowing, bringing up reflection from the past;

A faithful son who fights for love and finds

All but defeat for one love that dies last.

The icy winds blow away all the sanity in us,

Yet the love and fate keep the faithful hearts warm.

No one cares for her children like She does,

Give them life, show them love, keep them from harm.

Cloudy skies, gray tones coloring the dancing blankness,

The endless green of the forests shivering with silence.

Delicate scents of wet wood, children singing in happiness

For a Sun that shines shyly but looks immense.

The long lost glamour of golden walls and crystal dreams

Now are shattered pieces of a fairy tale, forgotten in time.

Voices echoing, laughs and cries of those who perished, it seems

And lullabies that at some point have lost their rhymes.

Look up the sky and listen to it; she is calling, she is smiling.

And she is always watching over her children from above.

Forget the frozen tears falling down your eyes and sing,

Praise Her, for you know Russia is your eternal enduring love.
