God Save the Tsar

He was a man of his word. 

His promise was to never be apart from his family; thought those merciless salvages had taken away his earthly treasures in hopes to break him down, he smiled at their harsh faces, for his most precious jewels were in his keeping. His Romanov kind blue eyes reflected love.

There they were, calmly waiting on that dark basement to be finally released to God knows where. He smiled.

“It will be over soon” he assured them.

Never was he apart from his family; even when they faced the guards’ riffles pointed directly at them.

My first drabble, exactly 100 words. Never thought it would be so hard! But I hope it's passable for a first drabble =)
