Dear Friend

It seems so long ago that I have gone down a dream,

Only to find that it goes down on pleasant stream.

All this time that I thought I was alone

You have only proved you won’t be gone.

What future holds for us, my dear friend?

Because sometimes I even like to pretend

We are just halfway to anywhere

Where people can be happy without a care.

Where people spend their days as if they’ve just met

Throwing water balloons, laughing as they get wet,

Learning random things, catching snowflakes,

Singing lullabies, fishing on the lakes.

Although I’d like to live it all, I do,

I might never come to meet you.

But there’s a place I’d like to go someday

To the Leprechauns land, what do you say?

Oh, well, it really doesn’t matter.

What I feel, I’ll keep forever;

And you will see you’ve got a friend in me

Waiting for you up in our house on the tree.
