Anne Boleyn's Fate

When the darkness invites our sleep

The clearness of the Moon

Embraces us in a peace so deep

Blissful dreams will come soon.

Dreaming sweet impossible fates

Never mind tomorrow;

I will forget my love and hate

All there’s left is sorrow.

Because today’s my last on Earth

Condemned to die by him

All because I did not give birth

To a son for my king.

Dreaming sweet impossible fates

Never mind tomorrow;

I will forget my love and hate

All there’s left is sorrow.

The headsman waits to chop my head

Of courage now I lack.

But it shan’t be painful, they said

I have a little neck.

Dreaming sweet impossible fates

Never mind tomorrow;

I will forget my love and hate

All there’s left is sorrow.

I look outside from the Tower,

And try to keep me sane.

Milord King did not know power

But am I to be blamed?

Dreaming sweet impossible fates

Never mind tomorrow;

I will forget my love and hate

All there’s left is sorrow.

Soon it will be over, I pray

Oh, death, rock me asleep

To me, there’s nothing left to say

I wait, I fear, I weep.

Dreaming sweet impossible fates

Never mind tomorrow;

I will forget my love and hate

All there’s left is sorrow.
