the idea that i felt more
important than i actually was
the idea that it all just
happened at the right time
and maybe that's all it is
'disheartened'
the action of having to jot down
all these irrational conclusions
so that i don't start
believing them

the idea that i don't know
whether to believe
my own conclusions or not,
the idea that this has
all happened before but
i didn't think you had it in you

of course i'm sad because
maybe it wasn't a fire,
maybe it was just a spark
