Reiner's POV

Ever since when I was a kid, I always wondered what's it like to love someone. I keep on asking these questions; "How does it feel and how does it work?"

And every time when I play outside, I saw some kids with their parents and they seem so happy.

I envy them.

My parents are never like that.

My father was abusive.

He smokes and drinks.

He never showed me any kindness or any concern when I have problems.

He was a cold-hearted man.

He gets angry very easily and often abuses me even when I didn't do anything wrong or stupid. I was 10 at that time.

But my mother was different from my father. She's my guardian angel. She's the only one who gave me comfort when I needed it.

Mother and father often fight and physically hurt each other.

There are times that I want to kill my father.

One night, a police officer came to our house and told my mother the bad news.

My father was drunk while he was driving back home but then he crashed into a tree and died.

I pretend to show empathy in front of my mother but in all honesty, I'm happy that he's dead. He deserved to die anyway.

3 years later, my mother left me.

I don't know the reason why.

The only person who's been there by my side, who protect me... is gone. And she will never return.

My grandmother offered me to live with her but I refused.

So I'm all alone. But she still sends me money, food or whatever the things that I need.

My two friends, Annie and Bertholdt often visit me or spend a night or two at my house to keep me company.

But I feel like there's something missing.

I'm missing...this type of feeling that I haven't felt for a long time.

'Love.'

Oh. That's right.

I missed the feeling of being loved.

And I always have that little hope in me.

Hoping that I'll meet that special someone who'll love me in return and who'll complete me.

2 years later, The first day of school went by, my friends and I are in the 9th grade.

And here I am with my friends, just hanging out.

And then...

"Hey Armin. Oh who's your new friend?"

"Oh yeah, guys meet (Y/n). She's new here."

My heart sparks.

I found her.

I found the one.

She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.

She is perfect.

(Y/n) (L/n).

I must not lose her.

I must protect her.

I must make her mine.

I must not let anyone take her.

I need her.

She is everything.

She is worth any sacrifice.

She is my little princess.

Nothing else matters.

No one else matters.
