Chapter 2: Meeting the Boss

Alexandra's POV

The next day I woke up with a smile on my face. I got up, washed myself up and went downstairs. "Someone looks happy today" said mom noticing the smile on my face.

I gave her a peck on the cheeks and sat on the table with the rest "Any plans today kiddo?" asked dad

"I don't know. I might just hang with Sofi" I told them taking a bite off the bread

"You guys are totally BFF goals" said Michelle, Jr's sister. I smiled at her comment.

"Why don't you visit your old school" suggested grandpa "I bet your teachers will be thrilled to meet you again"

"Great Idea gramps" I said glancing on my watch "Well, I have to go" I told them grabbing my keys

"Where are you going?" mom asked, "You didn't even have breakfast yet"

"I'll eat with Sof" I said closing the door behind me and ran towards the house next door. And just in time I saw Sofia wearing her uniform by their door. I sneaked behind her "Boo!" I shouted.

But she just looked at me with a blank expression "Its getting old Xan" she said

"Good Morning" I told her

She pinched my cheeks "Good morning to you too" she said closing the gate "Why are you up so early? Don't you have jet lag?"

"Nope" I said "I'm taking you to work today"

She looked at me questioningly "It's fine Xan, I can just go by taxi" I grabbed her wrist and dragged her to my car.

"I insist" I told her "And besides were going the same way anyways. I have to visit people"

She got on the car because I made her. After a couple turns she noticed that we aren't going the right way "Xan, where are you taking me?" she panicked "I swear I'll be late" she punched my arm

I smirk "Chill dude" I told her "We'll just take a detour to McDonalds. I haven't had breakfast yet. And you know me when I'm hungry"

"Fine" she said "just make it quick"

We drove to the window and I ordered our food. After a couple of minutes, I drove to the bank whilst eating the food with Sofia feeding it to me as I am driving.

"Thanks for the ride" she said exiting the door

"Anytime grandma" I teased looking out the window

She smiled and walked towards the door. She waited for me to drive off before going in.

Sofia's POV

"Who was that" said Jemma my friend and co-worker "Is he your boyfriend?" she teased "You're so unfair, I tell you everything when I go into a relationship and you don't" she pouted

I smiled "First of all, its 'she' not he. Secondly, I don't have any boyfriend, you know I'm too busy fro that. Lastly, we're childhood friends" I explained

"Childhood friend?" she asked "Damn girl, your friend is rich! Look at that car" she said watching the car drive off.

"Well if you must know, she is the granddaughter of this banks CEO" I told her pushing the door in front of me. When I looked back at her, her mouth was agape, so I pushed her chin up.

"You mean she's the Alexandra Katherine Reyes?" she said in surprise

I smiled and nodded

"How did you guys meet?" she asked curiously

"Did you forget we live right next to the Reyes? Plus, we were the same age, so we went to the same school and stuff until she moved to America" I told her setting my bag on my cubicle.

"How comes you never talk about her then?" she asked taking a seat in front of me.

"I can't just go bragging around that I'm friends with our boss's granddaughter and besides we kinda lost contact over the year. But I'm really glad she hasn't change" I told her

Someone cleared their throat behind us, so we both turned around and saw our manager Diego glaring at us "We're not paying the both of you to chat" he said

We quickly apologized, and Jemma went to her cubicle and I started working on some paperwork. And after a couple of hours I finally finished some of the financial statement from our clients. I glanced at my wrist watch and saw that it's already lunchtime. When I looked up again I saw Jemma peaking from our divider smiling. "Want to go out for lunch as usual?" I asked

She nodded excitedly but then her smile grew even bigger. I turned to see what she was grinning about and saw Xan walking towards us holding a bag on one side. She smiled as she approached us. "Hey" she said casually.

"Hey back" I said still in shock "What are you doing here" I asked

"Well, I was in the area and I was thinking we could lunch together" she said presenting the bag. She tilted her head slightly and smiled "you can bring your friend with you, if you want"

"And who might you be?" said a familiar voice and we all turned "Only employees are allowed on this area" said Diego

Xan turned to me "Who is he?" she whispered

"He's the manager" I whispered back

She nodded and turned back to the man "I have to ask you to leave or else I'll call the guards" said Diego. Xan lifted her arms up surrendering and smiled. She walked towards the door leaving the bag on my table and we all watched as the girl disappeared. I'm actually surprised she acted in the situation maturely unlike before, she always goes into fights. "Who let her in here anyways?" Diego asked eyeing me. "Who does she think she is?" he added

"She's the granddaughter of your boss" said Jemma behind me.

He looked confused and turned to me for confirmation and I nodded. His face went pale in shock and everyone in the office laughed at his reaction and he quickly exited to find the girl, but he was too late.

Well that was fun, I thought. I just got kicked out from my own company. I like that manager, I'll have a lot of fun playing with him. "What are you smirking about?" said Sofia seating beside me on the treehouse.

"Nah, I just remembered what happened today" I told her

"How does it feel like getting kicked out?" she mocked

I shook my head "I'm used to it already from school" I told her honestly. To be honest, I was never that good-mannered student growing up. I always ended getting into fight. It's not that I like it, it's just that I felt like I need to prove something. Prove that I'm not as perfect as they think I'm supposed to be. They expect me to be this picture-perfect girl and I hated that. I wanted to be like the other kids who learn from their mistakes instead of being taught about avoiding them.

"Well, you should have seen his face when he found out who you were" she said breaking my train of thought

I smiled "Man! You should've videoed it. I wanted to see" I told her

She bumped her shoulders into mine "Thanks for the lunch anyways" she said "Sorry we couldn't have had lunch together. And Jemma said thank you and she wanted to meet you"

"Hope you liked it" I told her
