Sofia's POV:

The next couple of days went the same. Xan drive me to work then we have lunch together. Jemma sometimes joins us. Then after my shift, if she was in the area we go home together. I swear she spend so much time in that bank, the manager she and baldy are becoming best friends. Everyone from the office seemed to know her already and it looked like she works was working there too due to the amount of time she spends there.

Lunch hour came, and the door burst open and walked in the girl that both annoy and make me smile "Afternoon Xan" said some of my co-workers as she passes them, and she politely greet them back.

She walked towards my booth "Your lunchtime appointment has arrived Miss Lopez" she said

"You're three minutes late, Miss Reyes. I do not tolerate tardiness" I said gathering up my things.

"Sorry, there was traffic" she said

She said she'll take me to a new restaurant so, we had to go out early. She parked in front a 50's styled diner which have bright red colours booths and black and white tiled floor. A waitress gave us the menu and waited for us to order. After, she went back to the kitchen, leaving Xan and I alone "So, where did you find this diner?" I asked

She was busy fidgeting with the condiments "It was recommended by Nicole" she answered

Our food came, and we started digging in. I was half was my food when I heard a group of people enter the diner. I didn't bother looking up because the food is too good. I have to admit my sister has great taste. "Sofia?" said someone making me look up "Sofia Lopez?" said Jake my former classmate in college. He gave me a hug "Damn, it's a small world after all" he said

I smiled in surprise. What is he doing here? "It is" I said, "How are you? Why are you here?"

"I'm great actually, but now better" he said combing his dirty blonde hair back with his hand "Well, my mom owns this diner so I'm here for lunch like I always do"

"That's so cool" I said, "Tell your mom, her barbeque wings are the bomb"

He chuckled "Of course, of course" he said.

I noticed Xan giving me a puzzled look "Jake, I'd like you to meet Xan. Xan this is Jake, we went to the same college"

They shook hands and greeted each other. Then Jake turned to me again

"Well, Sofie if you are free we could go grab coffee sometimes" he said flashing his killer smile. That was also the reason why I had a crush on him back in college

"I'd like that" I told him. It's been a long time since I met other people from my university except for Jemma so, I'm very excited.

"Awesome" he said, "and don't worry about the bill it's on the house" he said flashing that smile again.

"You don't have to do that" I told him feeling embarrassed

"No, I insist. It's a thank you gift for agreeing to hang out with me" he said

"Thank you" I told him and before he exited he said his goodbye and nodded at Xan

Alexandra's POV

When that Jake guy came my f&^%boydar was beeping. I glanced at Sofia and she doesn't seem to sense it. So, I just stayed quiet eating my food minding my own business. My plan today was to finally ask Sofia out on a real date. I decided to take our friendship further, but I guess someone just did it first. F&^%! I internally screamed while driving.

"What's wrong?" Sofia asked sensing that I was tense

"It's nothing" I said, "Probably nearing the red tide"

She seemed to believe me but not quite "I'll see you after work?" she asked, and I nodded.

Sofia's POV

When I got in I met Jemma on her booth "Hey!" she greeted "You look happy"

"Oh, I am" I told her leaning on the divider

"Is the reason for that smile Xan?!" she asked excitedly "Did she finally confess?"

I looked at her confusedly "What? No!"

"Oh... then why are you so bubbly then" she asked. So, I told her what happened. "You met the Jake Santiago? The f&^%boy?"

"He's not like that. He's actually nice when you get to know him better" I explained "And he asked me to hang out"

"Right..." she said, "You don't know what he really is because you're blinded by his looks." She paused, and her expression changed "Wait... you accepted his date proposition? In front of Xan?"

I nodded "Yeah, it's just catch up session"

"If you look closer and not wonder too much you might find that the one that'll make your life happier is just in corner" she explained turning away

What is she talking about? It's just a friendly date. Right? Even Xan understand that? I think...

Alexandra's POV

The next morning, I went to Sofia's house to do my daily duty when I noticed that someone's car is parked in front. I saw Sofia and a guy walk out the door as I enter the gate "Good morning" I said. The tone was a little bit higher and questioning

They turned to face me "Hey Xan" said Sofia "What are you doing here?" she asked

"Well... I was going to take you to work like I always do everyday" I explained

"Umm... Jake's driving me today" she said apologetically

I turned to the guy beside her and waved at me "Hey mate" he greeted, and I nodded and turned to Sofia

"I'll see you at lunch?" she asked

"Y-yeah" I said.

Awesome morning start! It seems like I've been doing things a little late because this guy does it faster. I watch as they drove off.

Lunch came, and the rush hour isn't helping at all. I parked in front of the bank and walked inside. "Hey Xan" greeted Jemma

"Hey, where's Sofia?" I asked

"She just went out with the smug face" she said. I cursed internally again. Damn, I need to work on my timing. But then, this went on for a week. Dang that guy is fast. I haven't hanged around with Sofia lately, it's either she's busy at work or she's out with that guy.

Then I tried again the following week

Then the week after

No luck
