Chapter 15: Well that happened...

Alexandra's POV

Weeks passed, and Sofia and I are still the same. I still drive her to work every day and spend lunch with everyone. However, my summer vacation is coming into an end. I'm currently at Camille's place. I've been hanging around her more and more. When I'm not with Sofia, I just drive here and talk to my consultant

"You like to zone out, don't you?" she asked as she placed the bait on the hook.

I leaned on the fence waiting for a fish to eat my bait "I was just thinking, my vacation's ending soon and I still don't know what my relationship with Sofia is" I said

"Aren't you guys best friends?" she said

I sat by the edge of the platform near my rod "Yeah, best friends"

She sighed and sat next to me "what are you actually feeling now? You're confusing me"

"Should I... stop" I said

She gave me an astonished look "What?" she said.

"Well, you see like you said we're best friends and with these confusing feelings, if we ended up dating, we might end up breaking up and that might affect our friendship" I explained. That taste bitter in my mouth.

"How long have you been thinking about that?" she asked

"Sleepless nights can have weird effects on people" I told her. "So, what do you think?"

"That point seems to be reasonable. And with that childish brain of yours, that's a pretty good thought" she said. Then she turned to the water "Are you planning on reeling that fish or not?" she ask and when I followed her gaze I saw that my line has already reached the middle of the river. So, I stood up and reeled the fish in but was unsuccessful. "Unlucky" she mocked

"Shut up" I told her and placed another bait on the hook. "I really don't know what to do now" I said taking a seat again

"Well, with that confused feeling, I don't think that's a good sign to go into a relationship. You need to be all in, mate" she said.

I nodded in agreement looking at the flowing river. I leaned back thinking what should I do. To be honest, if I was ever in a relationship with Sofia or anyone, I would love and care that person. I would give everything. But, Camille is right this muddled feeling isn't good when you're in a relationship.

"You know you're like a troubleshooting computer, your keep hanging" she said

"Shut up" I answered

She pulled me closed and hugged me "Other than being a 1930's computer who keeps stopping, I see an innocent child in you" she said stroking my hair

"What are you my mom now?" I asked chuckling putting my arms on her tiny waist

"You're such a joy kill" she said grabbing my face to face her. Her chestnut eyes met mine. I always admired how it turns lighter when the sun shines on her face. Her long eyelashes that flutters every time she blinks. Her soft cheeks that turns a shade of red. And her lips that mesmerises me every time.

We didn't even notice but we're inches apart. Suddenly our lips touched, her soft lips caressed into mine. A bolt of electricity passed my body. My mind shut down and my body just followed. I leaned, pulling her closer.

We finally broke the kiss when someone cleared their throat in the background. Fred gave us a confused look "I was gone for 5 minutes and you're already having a make out session" he said.

I looked at Camille "Uh—" I stuttered. I didn't know what happened.

Fred wiggled in between Camille and placed his arms around us "Since when was this?" he ask. Camille and I are still in shock because no one answered. "I get it, you guys are adults now. It's fine. It's just that when are you guys going to tell us you're going out" he looked at out surprised faces "I mean, we should've seen it. Xan's here like everyday" he said excitedly. "Well, let me just say this. I support you two and you have my blessing" he said giving us a squeeze. After that, he got up and ran towards the house which I'm guessing he's going to tell his wife what happened.

Camille and I are still silent "Uh—" we both said and gave a nervous smile.

"Well that happened" she said making us laugh nervously

I scratched the back of my head "Y-yeah" I said

"W-what now?" she said, "it was just a kiss right?" she asked

"Y-yeah" I said tensely

"We good?" she asked

"Of course, of course" I answered

Somehow, we ended up talking like always. After catching like 5 fishes, we gave up and went inside the house with a bucket of fish. Camille was carrying the rods and baits, while I carry the fishes. "When's your flight back then?" she asked

"Second week, next month" I told her as we walk up the house

"That's still a long time" she said, "Are you going to come back after your graduation then?"

I nodded "Probably, but I told my parents I need to take small break, you know before I start the adult life" I told her

"What are you going to do on that break then?" she asked putting away the things on the shed

"I don't know yet, maybe visit places around the world like I always dreamed" I told her

"That's a nice thought. I think everyone would like to achieve that dream" she said as we continue to walk towards the house.

"Would you care to join me then?" I joked

She smiled "Is that a proposal Miss Reyes? Because I wouldn't mind agreeing to that" she said

The front door opened making us turn. It revealed two surprised faces "And their engaged?!" Janet asked

We both gave them a confused look and realised they were talking about the kiss. We decided to just go with their fun because it'll be fun to break their bubble later. We're kinda in the middle of a prank war so yeah. "Sure, mom" said Camille as we walk to the kitchen to prepare the fishes for lunch. Oh yeah, we didn't have any plans today in the office because they have special visitors today.

We heard them squirm in the living room and probably doing the conga, I don't know. "Until when are we going to keep it from them?" I whispered.

"Let them have their fun" she said, "And besides" she came closer "are you scared of being my girlfriend?"

I squinted my eyes "maybe you are" I said challenging her

"Oh it's on Reyes" she said

"Let the games begin Montez" I said shaking her hand. "Can we make lunch now? I'm hungry" I said

She petted my head "So childish" she said
