Your relationship with Hermione Granger was complicated. She always thought that you were picking on her and trying to be an asshole, when in reality you just sucked at showing how you felt. Your naturally teasing nature managed to make Hermione feel bad about herself on a daily basis, and you hated yourself for it. You wanted her to like you just as much as you liked her. Over your most recent break, you bought Hermione some gifts to try to make up for all the times you had accidentally made her feel bad. You made a trip into the Muggle world to buy her some chocolate, knowing how much she liked the stuff. You also found a stuffed otter and decided to buy it, remembering that her patronus is an otter. When you arrived back at Hogwarts, you saw Hermione sitting alone in the Gryffindor common room and took a seat beside her, sliding the gifts over to her.

"What are these?" She asked, reluctant to open them.

"A few small gifts to apologize for always making you feel bad." You gave her a small smile.

She looked at you slightly shocked before opening the presents. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the variety of chocolate that you had gotten her, and she looked at the otter adoringly.

"These are my favorite types of candy!" She exclaimed.

"I know. I had to go into a Muggle store to find them." You chuckled lightly.

"And the otter?" She asked.

"I remembered that your patronus is an otter." You shrugged.

"I can't believe you remembered." She stated, a light blush on her cheeks.

"Of course I remembered. I remember a lot of things about you. More than I care to admit." You replied, before realizing what had just come out of your mouth.

It was true of course. You remembered everything about Hermione. Her middle name, her birthday, her favorite color. But you also remembered the deeper things like which one of her parents she finds it easier to talk to. And of course her quirky little mannerisms. Like how she slightly furrows her eyebrows when she's reading, or how she subconsciously bites her lip when she's thinking. You didn't even notice Hermione looking at you, very shocked.

"Er, um, sorry." You apologized, looking away from her.

"It's alright, Y/N." She said softly.

"Hermione, I'm really sorry for always hurting your feelings. I have a very teasing nature and I don't know when to quit. And I don't know how to express my feelings properly. I hate making you upset though. I want to be the one to make you happy." You told her, looking down at your hands.

"It's okay, Y/N. I think you expressed your feelings perfectly. Would you like to be my date to Hogsmeade this weekend?" She asked you, reaching over to grab your hand.

You nodded your head, causing a bright smile to appear on her face.

"Great! I'm going to take this stuff up to my room and then I'll be back okay?" She said, gathering her stuff and heading towards the stairs, but not before pressing a soft kiss to your cheek.

You nodded, thinking about her lips on your cheek and how you had a date with Hermione Granger.
