A second week had gone by. Felina, I'd started calling her by her full name, even though it was only in my head, still rarely ventured out of her room. I'd seen Blair once or twice, how he had the audacity I did not know, but whenever we met, in the hallway or kitchen, I would throw him my most menacing glare. It gave me some satisfaction to see his horrified expression, though I could not bring myself to do much more than that.

"You know, Lina is my mate." Blair had ventured out of Felina's room again but where he'd avoided all interaction with me before, he'd come down to the kitchen and sat on one of the barstools now. Granted, it was the one furthest away from me and as I looked up I could see the terrified look plastered across his face, however, one had to admire his courage as he spoke the words.

I glowered at him for some time, waiting for him to follow his statement with some kind of explanation, but nothing was forthcoming.

I grabbed the bowl of cereal I'd been eating and flung it at him, making sure I missed him by only a hair before it splintered across the wall behind him.
