"What should we do today?" I ask as I look up to Alex's face. Even from this angle he looks good. He looks down to his lap where I put my head on. "You wanna do makeovers or bake something?" He asks. "Mhmm. You always end up looking way pretty with make-up than me so, no. We can go shopping?" I ask like an unsure question. He makes up a face. A face he makes when he knows that I will be spending so much time inside the store.

"Alright. We'll bake something." I say lifting myself up from the position as I tie my hair nicely. "Okay. What are we going to make?" He asks. I plop my head on his lap again realizing the vast list of foods that existed. He chuckles with my reaction. "Cookies? Muffins? Cakes?" He spills out a list. "Sure." I reply as I get up again.

I walk into the kitchen remembering the recipe in my head. A sudden tone made me look at Alex's phone on the kitchen counter. He must have forgotten about it.

Tilting my head down a text read: "Why did you take the day off? Will you be coming tonight?"

"So we ready to start?" Alex says as he stood a few feet behind me. "You took today off? Why?" I ask him.

"What?" He asks with his innocent look

"What?" He asks with his innocent look. "Alex, why did you take today off?" I ask him again. "I just wanted a day off. Now c'mon, some fresh chocolate cake will cheer you up." He says kissing my forehead. "It's not something you do though." I say.

He sighs. "You been a little stressed lately and I wanted to spend some time with you." He says giving up.  "I'll always have time for you." He continues as he walks up to me. "But I'll be fine." I say. "So you agree that you wasn't fine before." Alex asks. "Alex, I'll be fine. It just comes and goes. Don't worry." I reply. I walk towards the cabinets taking out the measuring cups. "You sure?" He asks. "Yeah. I want you to focus on your work for now." I say.
