memory reset #20

Leigh-Anne walked with her shoulders hunched slightly. It was a new week and she had already done research on where Jesy stayed and lived.

If it hadn't been in the circumstances Leigh-Anne was in she'd probably be considered a stalker.

Leigh-Anne didn't know what she was going to do when she found the girl of her dreams. What could she say?

"We're meant to be, just believe me!"

Yeah, that would totally get her a freaking smack to her face.

Leigh-Anne shook her head, deep in thought. It wasn't apparent yet how she would go about this. All she knew was that it was important that she do this correctly. But she also knew that if she didn't she would have a chance each week.

Though, Leigh-Anne didn't want another chance. She wanted it now. But that's unrealistic. In fact, Jesy most likely would forget anything Leigh-Anne had told her with the way her memory would disappear. Which to Leigh is absolute disappointment.

She decided maybe she shouldn't care. Because she would try over and over again until Jesy remembered her.

It made Leigh-Anne mad at times. Why was she so fixated on Jesy?

Why couldn't it be someone less than average?

Why was she so in love with someone out of her league?

Why did she have to remember everything? It just wasn't fair!

Leigh-Anne turned the corner, passing by Jesy's house. This week Jesy lived on Elizabeth St. She lived in a small brown house with coral colored decorations surrounding it.

Leigh-Anne smiled. This could be their home if only Jesy had remembered the way she had. This could be where she woke up everyday or at least one day to be with her baby. She wanted that.

Unsure of what to do next, she decided to knock on the door. It was a brave move but she had to start somewhere.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

She waited a while. There were whispers at the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Leigh-Anne tried again. She knew someone was inside. She could hear them shuffling around in there.

Knock. Knock. Kno-

"Hi, we don't want any girl scout cookies and we don't believe in God!" What appeared to be a small girl stood behind the door, it being half opened.

Leigh-Anne couldn't help but giggle a little bit. Definitely seemed like she'd be Jesy's kid.

"No, sweetie. I'm looking for your momma."

"Oh, well she's not here right now." The girl seemed suspicious.

"I'm a friend of hers. We work at the old Social Security office together." Leigh-Anne used her knowledge about Jesy's life this week to get the child to trust her.

"Oh, ya do?" The child smiled.

"Yes. Um, what's your name, again?" She knew Jesy had kids but never got deep enough to know their names.

"Ebony is the name." She reached her hand out for Leigh-Anne to shake.

Leigh-Anne put her hand out and shook the small extremity.

"By chance do you know where I could find your momma?"

"She's at the corner cake shop on Smith land street!" Ebony raised her finger while speaking.
