Chapter 8 - Symphony

Poppy sat down by a river that was close by. She was still angry but a bit more calm here. She stared into the bright sunny sky. She laid down trying to relax. As she lay down, the necklace that Branch gave her hit her right in the face. "OW!" She exclaimed as it hit her. She noticed the picture on the necklace. Branch was giving her a great big hug and it said Best Friends Forever. And then, it dawned on her. Branch wasn't trying to stop her from finding her mother, he was just protecting her. Like he always was. She sighed. "What have I done?" She asked herself. She got up and looked back at the forest where she left Branch. "I need to make this right." She said to herself before walking towards the forest. She started looking for Branch and not too far from where she left him, she saw a grey figure kneeling down. It was Branch "Branch!" she exclaimed trying to get his attention. But he just looked at her and looked down again. "Branch, I'm so sorry. I didn't meant to talk to you like that. I was just caught in the heat of the moment." She said before she started singing Symphony by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson.

As she finished up the song, she noticed that Branch's gorgeous teal blue color had been restored. She ran to him and gave him a great big hug. "I'm so sorry Branch. I'll never talk to you like that ever again. Please forgive me." She said with tears in her eyes. He returned the hug. "I forgive you Poppy. I'm sorry if I've been annoying on this trip." Branch replied. "No no Branch! You weren't annoying, you were just trying to protect me. I just didn't see it." Poppy said in regret. They broke from the hug. "Now, come on, we need to find your mother." Branch said confidently. Poppy nodded back.
