(Third Person POV)
"Kay..." a soft voice called the lying soldier. Kay struggles to open his eyes and groans from the headache forming from trying to open the eyes.
"Kay baby.. wake up- you'll be late" The voice called again, Kay knew this voice from somewhere, "Mom...?" he calls out with a trembling and tired voice.
"Yes baby, it's me... come on, open your eyes, look at me" Kay's mother called as she placed her hand on his cheek, slightly rubbing it in order to soothe Kay's tense muscles.
"Mom... am I dead?" Kay opened his eyes slightly and met with a bright light, blinding him entirely. He wasn't aware of what happened, one moment he was behind a sand sack wall next moment he can't open his eyes due to the light and the headache forming because of it.
"Honey, why would you say that?" The voice asked with a concerned tone, 'what is happening to me..' Kay thought to himself ' Am I really dead?' He suddenly felt a heavy burden on his chest- if he is dead, what will happen when everyone finds out. Kay started shaking slightly from the thought of being dead "no..no.. no no NO! I can't be dead!" He punched the surface beneath him "Honey.. relax, open your eyes.. look at me" His mother grabs his hand and presses on it lightly, Kay groans as he opens his eyes and finally faces his mother, her beautiful black hair shines from the sunset light coming from the window, he missed her so much, ever since his father gave up on trying to "fix" his state, He hasn't seen his mother because he was sent into a mental institute. He tried to sit up but struggled, he felt as if he was strapped down to the surface beneath him.
"Mom.. what happened?" he asks, Kay looks back at her and sees that her gentle smile turned into a worried one "You got knocked out from the explosion near your position honey.." She says with a sad tone.. "Mom, why are you here?" He suddenly realizes the situation, he hasn't seen his mom since the day he got sent by his father. She never wrote him, called him or visited him. Kay was sure she forgot about him.
"Honey... this isn't real, you're in a coma baby" she presses more firmly on his hand as couple tears roll down on her cheeks, staining them. "What.. why would I be seeing you then..?" he says with an aggressive tone. 'This isn't real' he kept repeating in his head, but seeing his mother cry because her son is hurt made Kay feel like he crashed into a wall. Kay missed his mother so much- he wanted to touch her, hug her one more time, tell her how much he loves her but he knows that it won't happen so instead of getting upset he takes the opportunity and sits up, leaning forward to hug his mother but as he reaches her she turns into dust. Kay backs away slightly, shocked and upset he rubs his eyes and looks around him.
He is no longer in the room with the beautiful sunset, he is outside in a forest. He looks up at the starry night and sees the moon, ever since the earth has been divided into the first two main clans, the moon got two colors mixing with the beautiful white shine. The top part of the moon was usually blue- signalling the water essence of the moon clan, the bottom part tinted with orange-red shade, signalling the water essence of the sun clan.
Kay felt like he could stare at the moon forever till he felt something bump into his left leg, he glances down to see what bumped into him and notices a white fox. 'Since when are there foxes in this part of the forest?' Kay questioned himself as he reached down to pet it, at first the fox took a step back in precaution but then slightly leaned towards Kays arm and nuzzled it. Kay smiled and kneeled down in order to pet it, as he got into the kneeling position the fox jumped into his arms and slightly adjusted his position in order to be more comfortable. "Hey little buddy, are you lost?" Kay asked while he was lightly petting the fox head, the fox nuzzled into Kays jacket in response. "Okay then, let's find a place to stay" Kay said as he got up holding the fox as if it's a child and starts walking straight, hoping he would find some place to sleep and stay for the time being.
