PART ONE, EIGHT: JEALOUSY

It never truly occurred to me that Dumbledore was actually truly concerned for my wellbeing and my friendship with Tom. It was probably then I should have listened, but I didn't, and I'm not sure if I regret it or not

Emma sat in her regular seat at the front of her favorite class, Transfiguration taught by Albus Dumbledore, Annie Abbot sat down beside her, greeting the Head Girl with a hello.

"Today we will be reviewing the Bird-Conjuring Charm, I'm sure you all remember this from your sixth year as some were able to complete the charm and some haven't which is why I would like to go over it, now everyone partner up" Dumbledore said as he clapped his hands together, the desks and chairs had disappeared from sight giving the students more room to move about.

Emma smiled at Abraxas who was sitting behind her, she was glad that they went over the spell beforehand.

"Want to be partners?" The sweet hufflepuff Annie Abbot asked as she smiled at her

"Sure" Emma told her as she smiled, Emma going first was distracted as the Transfiguration door opened revealing Tom Riddle

"Mr. Riddle, your late" Dumbledore said to him as everyone stopped to watch the interaction between the two wizards

"Sorry Professor Dumbledore, it seems that Professor Slughorn needed my help with some preparations" Tom said cooly as he gave him an easy smile as he passed him the note Professor Slughorn wrote for him

Tom hated having to explain himself to Dumbledore, Dumbledore has always had this secret hatred for Tom Riddle and all Tom ever wanted to do was please the old wizard but whenever he tried, it brought him to failure

Dumbledore grabbed it from his hands reading it twice, Dumbledore brought his eyes up to the young wizard "Very well Mr. Riddle, have one of your classmates bring you up to date on what we are reviewing today"

Dumbledore left before Tom could say another word as he went to help a struggling student, Tom's eyes went towards the Head Girl as he strolled up to her as he gave Annie Abbot a smile, that Annie sighed as her heart fluttered

"Miss Abbot, may I have a word with Emma?" Tom asked politely showing his famous smile that every girl seemed to fall for.

"Of course Tom" Annie said quite dazed as she winked at Emma as Tom pulled the Ravenclaw aside

"Your late, as Head Girl I should give you detention" Emma exclaimed as she crossed her arms.

Ever since the trip to Hogsmeade, Emma slowly has gained trust in Tom and saw him as a friend. The two would speak on random subjects ranging from politics to silly gossip that ran about the corridors of Hogwarts. The two were becoming rather close and everyone noticed it.

"Well I'm Head Boy and I could revoke that, but please tell me what we are reviewing?" Tom asked her

"Bird-Conjuring charm, I'm sure your familiar with it" Emma told him as she turned to grab her wand off the desk

"Didn't we master that last year?" Tom asked confusedly

"Dumbledore wanted to review it, since some students were having trouble, but I'm sure you had no trouble at all"

Tom gave her a smirk "Well of course"

Emma shook her head playfully, "If that's all the questions you have, I must get back to Annie"

"Alright then" Tom smiled at her as he went towards his Knights

"Your so lucky Emma, being able to be near him like that, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole girl population in this school hated you" Annie told her
