Taking Up Time For Me

If my last seconds were spent taking up time with the rain I wouldn't mind as it collided with glass moving fast through its pain.

Thumping like his boots on the hardwood floor or like my heart when his words grab ahold of my soul.

Pounding like my thoughts trying to take control or like my head against the wall crushing my skull.

It's hard to make it through the days where I provide myself no fuel now.

Clicking like time, I watch each line, each number floating in the sky.

And the stars have grown heavy, not light or shiny but as dust appears to burnt eyes.

Simple souls pretending to be precise, simply living a lie.

No longer taking their own advice.

Completely powerless but yet forcing the silence to sustain.

If I could immerse myself into the unlit eternity that awaits, I'd turn water to shards and let them fall to your soft skin so I could feel your pain.

If my last seconds were spent taking up time with the rain I'd live inside the drops that fall from heavy clouds so you no longer hold my touch for just yourself.
