Chapter Seven
May 2016

"We find you, Andrea Andor, guilty of exposure. We sentence you to death immediately." Aro spoke loudly. Two men mushed him onto his knees, he sweat and begged for forgiveness. Odette walked up to the man and paled her hands on his temple, a flower crown bloomed around it. Odette had found that it was more respectful and calmed them down, even if they didn't deserve it.

"May God have mercy on you." She whispers and removes his head in a swift motion. It falls to the floor and the men remove his arms and burn him, right then and there.

"You're wonderful at that, my love." Aro says. Odette takes a seat at his throne and pulls her legs into a cross cross position. Aro gazed at her, wondering how she could love a true monster like him. Odette spoke Marcus is a soft sweet tone. When the next case in Odette's eyes went wide and she fell silent, she stiffened and sat up straight.

"Athena." She whispered. Athena looked as beautiful as every but very deadly. Her green eyes had become red and her hair shaved, she definitely looked powerful but not in the same way she used too. Athena snapped up to look at Odette and her gaze softened for a mere second before turned angry again. Athena trashed against the guards and growled, her temper filling the room.

"Athena Reynolds. You are being tried for the accusation of starting a newborn army. How do you plead?" Marcus stood and spoke firm, he was rather stunned at Odette's behavior and how out of character it was for her.

Athena's eyes stared right into Odette's. "Guilty." She growled. Odette almost gasped but kept her composure as much as she good.

"We finds you guilty on all charges. You are sentenced to immediate execution." Aro states. Athena doesn't panic, her laugh fills the room. It's cold and unlike her, the old her anyway. Odette stood up, venom stinging her eyes as she neared her old friend.

"Why?" Odette asks softly, towering over Athena who was now on her knees. Aro was shocked by the interaction, he hadn't seen Odette really interact with a criminal before and the way she did confirmed the theory that she knew the girl.

"Everything I did. It was all for you." Athena says, her voice not wavering nor breaking once. A drop of silver venom dropped down Odette's skin and fell to the stone floor. "Don't cry, Oddie. I'll see you on the other side."

Odette quickly ripped the head off and was out of the room in a blink of an eye. Everyone there was left stunned and confused.

Aro had already left to go find her, he worried what she might do. Odette was in the first place he checked, the garden. She sat under the shade of a willow tree where she was growing a kind of flower that Aro didn't recognize. "They're Chinese Forget-Me-Nots." She said, almost startling Aro. He slowly took a seat beside her and watched them sprout and bloom around them.

"Would you like to talk about it?" Aro asks, his hand gently strokes a blue petal his eyes scan up to hers. A sigh escapes her pink lips and her eyes shut. She just grabs Aros hand and shows what had happened. When it's over he looks at her, guilt coated his red eyes.

Aro had never really felt guilty before but this time it was heavy in him. The pain he unintentionally put his mate through ate away at him. "Aro." He looked back at her. "It's okay. I'm okay. Just," She paused and squeezed his hand. "stay." She whimpered. Aro put his arm around her head and pulled her to his chest, his free arm pulled her into his lap. Odette dry sobbed into his chest as he rocked her back and forth.

"Do you know what I find fascinating about you, Odette?" Aro spoke up. Odette looked at him with sad eyes and shakes her head, her words wouldn't form into sentences and any sounds she tried to make would betray her. "Your uncanny ability to always look at the brighter things. With you there is always bright in something. Do not dwell that she is gone, sunshine. Relish your time you did have together." Odette looked ahead with no real sign of emotion.

"In high school Athena and I were cheerleaders. I wasn't good at it but Athena was the best. Whenever I would fall she would make me get up and try again, she was this support beam I had. Now that it's completely gone I fell as if I'm going to crash down." Aro was slightly hurt. He assumed that he was her support beam, he wouldn't say anything though. Odette deserves to mourn any way she pleased. "Now I have you. You are my light."

"I always will be." Aro says and places a small kiss on the top of her head. Odette snuggled deeper into his chest he smiled when she did this. Aro had loved how she would always try to be as close as possible to him, it made him feel like he was doing something right.

"Est-ce ainsi que notre vie sera toujours?" Odette asks, her fingers trace shapes on his arm. Aro simply stares at her enjoying every second of her being.

"C'est seulement d'ici, soleil." Aro leans his chin on her head. The two stay for hours, simply talking and enjoying each others company.

"Aro." Odette sat back and stared at him. He hummed in response, he took notice of her fidgeting. "I'm in love with you."

Aro smiles and kissed her lips. Odette giggles and fell into his body. "I'm in love with you as well, Odette."
