They were all covered in paint. From head to toe all three of them were cover in cream paint "what do you have to say for yourselves?" I threatened. The house wasn't finished, only half of it was painted. I think more paint got on them rather then the house. They all blushed as my father came up behind me, laughing.

"don't mind them" he chuckled "now who would like to go in for lunch?" the three of them clutched their stomachs and nodded. We went up the stairs of the two story building and went inside to me greeted by the wonderful smell of food. On the large table there was a mixture of Australian and Chinese food "dig in"  my mum yelled. They sat at the table and looked at everything wearily.

"what are these? " lafayette pondered picking up the noodles in with his fork. I explained the concept of noodles to them along with a few other dishes on the table. They seemed amazed with the variety. They all stuffed themselves with the delicious food which wasn't the five minute meal I have been eating with them since they arrived.

Lafayette started a nice conversation with my mum who herself could speak French. Hercules and laurens were talking to each other about their discoveries in this time. I felt the dog walk under the table and I saw John went stiff as the animal placed his head on his lap.

"he just wants food"i said. John gave him a little food and the dog called bandit. Ate it before heading over to lafayette. Bandit did the the circuit of the three revolutionaries before my dad yelled "get out of it!"

The end of the day was approaching. After eating I decided to take a quick walk down to the beach to clear my head. Lafayette came with me while Hercules and John stayed at the house playing with the dog they grew to like. Lafayette smiled as the beach grew closer "hey Lafayette. What's it like in France?" I asked

He's frown was clear as day "not doing to well" he responded "my peoples are still rioting"

"Right, the French Revolution" we were both silent for second "if I don't manage to get you back. You won" I small smile of consultation appeared on his face. I took of my thongs off and left them by the post leading to the beach. Lafayette copied me and we made our way down to the water. As we walked along a saw couples playing the water with pets and maybe even kids of there own. I blushed thing of Philip "I miss philip" I commented "I wonder if he's ok"

Lafayette looked at me sympathetically "he'll be fine" he comforted "from what I've heard he's a strong boy". We continued walking "what's America like now?"

I couldn't speak from experience but I did know a few things "it's a very powerful country. In the words of my dad, it's kind of like the global police force." I explained. Happiness filled his features.

"So our efforts were not wast of time" he laughed. I looked ahead, contempt.

I looked ahead and there was a weird figure ahead lying to the sand "is that a child?" Lafayette questioned. I ran forward to whoever it was to see that they were bleeding out. Judging by the long hair, it was a young girl. I grabbed her in a comforting way to sooth her cries.

"It's alright. It alright" I comforted. She was in bad condition. Her clothes were obviously not protecting her against the hot sun that beat down on the earth. She was dirt and smelled like fumes from a factory. Her hands were red with scars and cuts that made crisscross patterns on her palms. I felt her grip onto me for dear life. I looked at Lafayette "we need to get her back to the house so we clean the wound" I explained. There wasn't a hospital for kilometres in either direction of us, so cleaning it ourselves was her best chance of the wound not getting infected. Then we could drive to a hospital. Lafayette picked her up out of my arms and we quickly carried her back to the house.

John and Hercules spotted us a mile away and cleared a path for us and the girl as we went up to the house. My parents ran off to get a medical kit while John slowly pulled up her skirt to look at where ever she was bleeding out of. I saw her nearly scream out at every movement John made. I wrapped my hands on her cheeks and made look at me "hey you'll be fine" I cooed "don't worry about anything just focus on me." John finished pulling skirt and apron up.

"She's got a gash running all the way up her leg" Hercules stated "I'll get the alcohol and bandages" he ran off in the same direction my parents did. I felt her breaths get quicker as she started to panic. I tried my best to calm her down, Lafayette also tried his best but for some reason he had slipped into French with all the panic in the air. John nudged me while hooking back her skirt and apron. I looked at him feverishly.

"Sing" he ordered.

I started nodding vigorously and I looked back in her eyes "yeah. Yeah ok. Hey hey" the little girl looked back at me "do you like any songs?" I panted. She tried her best to shrug and I continued to nodded "well you know a song that always cheers me up when I'm down?!" I cleared my thought.

Leaves from the vines falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
Drifting in the foam
Sweet solider boy Comes marching
Brave solider boy comes marching home.

Her breathing began to steady as I began the song again.

John joined in, as well as Lafayette. Out of the corner of me eye a saw Hercules and my folks come back with a box full of things.

Drifting in the foam

They shuffled around they box pulling out different medical equipment. The girl started to panic again. I kept her eyes on me.

As my parents began to operate on the gash I told her to Sing with us. She needed to keep her mind off it. With a croaking voice she tried.
