Middle of No Where

October 10, 16:30 EDT

"C'mon, Cyra! Push it!" Hal yelled.

Sweat was running down the blonde's face, causing dark lines to appear and cut through the dust. Her arms were shaking as her amber eyes twitched. The bridge in front of her was crumbling and the green constructs holding it together were flashing like strobe lights, causing the bridge to slowly disintegrate.

"You stopped a whole building from falling apart!" Hal screamed from below. "What's the difference from this."

Cyra's arms fell to her sides as the bridge finally gave out and fell into a pile of debris and rubble. Good thing it was only an artificial bridge made for her training or a lot of people would have died.

"The difference—" Cyra said after mouthful of breath. "—is that I've been on my last legs all week, a building full of people is a lot better motivator, and I hate this!" Cyra yelled finally as she kicked one of the stone chunks and swore, clutching her foot.

Hal let out a sigh as his hands that were once couching her fell to the ground. "I'm sorry. It's just . . . we only have a month until you have to go to the Guardians for check-in and I want to make sure they're impressed with your training."

"And if they're not?"

Hal ran a hand over his face. "They could take your ring away."

Cyra's face fell as Hal turned and walked away.

"You better get to the Cave," Hal called over his shoulder. His voice sounded tired. "You still have training over there with Black Canary. If you're late, tell her you were training with me."

Mount Justice

October 10, 16:58 EDT

Cyra hurried into the training room at Mount Justice, still in her Green Lantern suit.

"I've really enjoyed being your, uh, den mother this week," Black Canary was saying before Cyra walked in. "At least for those of you who choose to show up."

"Sorry," Cyra said sheepishly. "Trying with Big GL."

"You're going to owe me an hour on the matt," Canary ordered and Cyra groaned as she dropped her bag on the ground and let her stuff slide into the wall.

"Ha!" Wally laughed from his lounge chair as he was drinking lemonade.

"What are you laughing at? Think about all the time you have to make up after sitting there all day!" Cyra barked and the speedster stopped laughing to glare at her.

"Recognized: Zatara 1-1," the computer interrupted.

Zatara, the Justice Leagues personal magician, walked over to a holographic keyboard and types in some numbers.

"Access granted: Zatanna Zatara A-03; authorization: Zatara 1-1."

"Zatanna, this is the team," Zatara introduced us to a girl who looked a little younger than Cyra. She had dark hair and blue eyes and was wearing a school girl's uniform. "Team, this is my daughter—Zatanna."

"I guess top hats don't run in the family," Cyra chuckled and Artemis elbowed her in the side.

M'gann flew forward. "Hi, I'm—"

"Robin!" the Boy Wonder jumped in front of M'gann. "I mean, I'm Robin. That's M'gann and this is Wally, Cyra, Artemis, Kaldur, and Connor."

"Hey! What happened to secret identities?" Cyra asked.
