"Hey, nice to meet you," Lindsey took a step foward to shake his hand.

Robert looked at Stevie and she moved her eyes in Lindsey's direction to give him the hint. Robert then stood up and leaned over the dining table to shake his hand.

"Likewise," Robert didn't make eye contact when shaking his hand. He looked at Stevie and she had her eyes glued on him.

Lindsey didn't think anything of it. He was just continuing to play the part of 'not knowing' them. He did notice he was a bit standoffish, but at the same time Lindsey remembers him always being that way towards him.

Robert was a uppity because, he of course recognized Lindsey. He knew that was Kristen's husband and now his daughter was dating him. He questioned it all. He didn't really like Lindsey because of how he and Stevie acted on stage, though Stevie was truthful and told him a million times it meant nothing. And, of course just like Stevie he wondered of all the men in the world– why Lindsey? But Robert also had a feeling Shannon was doing it to taunt him but at the same time he knew his daughter didn't know about her mother's past with Lindsey– which she didn't and frankly she didn't even know Lindsey until the day before.

"Okay, we're gonna get going," Shannon tangled her fingers in Lindsey's.

"Have a good time. Excuse me," Robert turned to walk up the stairs.

"Bye, guys," Shannon pulled Lindsey in the direction of the door.

"Bye, honey," Stevie said as she took her's and Robert's dishes to the kitchen.

Jeffrey and Nicholas stayed seated eating and Jeffrey's eyes wandered to his mother– whom was pouring a glass of wine.

Stevie eventually made her way back to her boys and she sat in her original spot.

"What's up with dad?" Nicholas asked.

"Uh–" Stevie was about to respond but Jeffrey could see she was about to struggle.

"He's probably tired from today," Jeffrey assured Nicholas, "we had a big day."

"We sure did, it was really cool," Nicholas smiled as he looked down at his plate of food to continue eating.

Jeffrey looked at his mom and he knew, she knew something.

Stevie sipped her wine and was quite comfortable with the scene that had just taken place.

A little time goes by and the boys go upstairs to hang out and play video games.

"Mom said she is going to get us the Star Wars: TIE Fighter when it comes out next month!" Nicholas told his brother as they went up the stairs.

"Awesome!" his older brother responded.

"I know it's summer but don't stay up too late, please!" Stevie yelled.

"We won't!" both boys shouted back.

"For now we have to play the X-Wing but, it's not long before we get our hands on the TIE Fighter one," he continued.

"You still play Street Fighter?" Jeffrey asked.

"Uh, yeah- that's one of my favorites!" Nicholas went on.

Stevie laughed to herself as she took the dishes to the sink to be washed because, the tiniest things made her boys happy. Even, Jeffrey still got like a little boy with the video games– but most men get like that anyway with small things they love.

Stevie decided to have one more glass of wine before going upstairs. She wanted to just relax and enjoy the bit of peace and quiet before she started to fight with her husband because she had a feeling that was coming next.
