I help Luke finish setting out the food, and we all sit down together to eat, chatting about nothing of any particular importance.

When we're done, everyone takes empty plates out into the kitchen and leaves them in the dishwasher. I see Luke take Holly's, wrist and ask to talk to her.

He looks to me before I leave the kitchen, and I smile encouragingly, closing the door behind me. But, of course, being the nosy idiot I am, I keep my ear pressed to the crack between the door and the frame.

'C, baby, what're you doing?' Asks Ashton. The others have all disappeared.

I place a finger to my lips as Ashton places his head against the crack, just below mine. 'Luke's finally talking to Holly,' I say, 'do you really think I'd miss this?'

Holly's POV:

After we finish lunch, I go to go upstairs, but Luke takes my wrist and holds me back.

'Holly, can I... Talk to you?' He begins, sounding nervous. I notice Charlotte is the last to leave, smiling encouragingly to Luke.

'Yeah,' I say as Charlotte closes the door, 'what's up?'

'Well, I don't want this to be some corny, 'we've known each other for a while now' thing, but... Well, we have, and...' Luke trails off, fiddling with the hem of his shirt nervously. My heart is racing, but it try not to get my hopes up.

Then again, my head is screaming six words over and over.

'I guess... You see, I was thinking about is for a little while,' Luke starts, 'and I don't know what was holding me back.'

He's going to ask me out he's going to ask me out he's going to ask me out he's going to ask me out......

'But then I talked to Charlotte, and... Well, she knows me so well,' says Luke, smiling, almost laughing. 'You remember when Ashton said he gives us three weeks?'

'Yes,' I say. I realise that we've been inching towards each other.

'I was hoping maybe we could last for longer,' he says, 'but I don't think I can hold this off any more.'

I want to believe what I'm thinking is correct. I want to believe it so much it hurts, it physically hurts me. But I've been wrong before...

'What can't you hold off?' I say, my voice barely above a whisper.

Luke pushes a strand of hair behind my ear, and leaves his hand cupped around my face. 'That the moment I lay eyes on you, I fell completely and utterly in love with you.'

Before I could even begin to fully comprehend what was happening, that for once someone had gone right in my life, Luke was kissing me.
